XYZ Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Volkswagen PASSAT CC SEDAN 4WD φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2008-2010

Sustained angle in a 4wd Passat CC comes down to how the rear end loads and unloads as you transition, and that’s exactly where a factory-tuned electronic damper falls short. The XYZ Racing Drift Spec coilover replaces that adaptive system entirely, with the cancellation kit removing the electronic damping controller so the car reads purely off the fixed valving underneath it.

For a big, heavy 4WD saloon like the Passat CC, that matters more than on a lighter rear-drive car – the chassis needs a suspension setup that resists roll and squat consistently through a drift, not one that’s constantly recalculating. This kit is built specifically for that discipline: stabilising the body through high-speed transitions so the car holds its angle rather than fighting it.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2010 Volkswagen Passat CC Sedan 4WD Φ55 (cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Lowering the ride height with the correct bump stroke changes how the Passat CC’s weight transfers during a drift initiation – get that geometry right and the car stops wallowing into corners and starts rotating predictably. With the electronic damping system cancelled out, damping response stops varying lap to lap or transition to transition; what you set is what the car runs, every time. That consistency is what lets a driver commit to an angle and hold it rather than correcting for a suspension that’s still adjusting itself mid-slide. On a 4WD platform this weight and length, body control through the transition is the difference between a clean link and a car that steps out unpredictably. The result is a chassis that stabilises faster after weight transfer and gives you a repeatable base to build a drift setup around.

About the Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built the Drift Spec range around one job: making a car’s body behave predictably at high slip angles and high speed, which is a very different brief to a track or fast-road coilover chasing outright grip. The valving and spring rates are calibrated to control body movement through the kind of aggressive weight transfer a drift transition produces, rather than to minimise it – the aim is a controllable rotation, not a flat, grip-focused ride. Ride height drops with a bump stroke calculated to keep the suspension working through its travel once you’re loaded up in a slide, instead of running out of stroke and upsetting the car mid-transition. For this Passat CC application, the kit includes the cancellation piece needed to take the factory electronic damping system out of the loop, since Drift Spec’s fixed-rate control only works if nothing else is trying to override it. The overall package is aimed squarely at drivers running this car in competitive drifting, where predictable body control at extreme angles counts for more than outright lateral grip.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Passat CC Sedan 4WD Φ55 (2008-2010)

This kit is built for the Volkswagen Passat CC Sedan 4WD Φ55 chassis (VO34-C) across the 2008-2010 model years, and includes the cancellation kit required to disable the factory electronic damping control on this application. Confirm your Passat CC is the 4WD Φ55 variant and carries the electronic damping system before ordering, since the cancellation hardware is specific to that setup.
