XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Volkswagen PASSAT B6 WAGON 3C φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2005-2010

The Passat B6 Wagon’s factory electronic damping is calibrated for comfort, not for stringing corners together at rally pace, and it has no answer for the load a loaded estate carries into a fast compression on a stage. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover replaces that system entirely, cancellation kit included, so the φ55 shock body runs its own fixed valving rather than fighting inputs from a control unit tuned for the school run.

This is a purpose-specific build for sealed-stage tarmac work, where the car needs to absorb a bad edge or a mid-corner ridge without the rear end stepping wide under the wagon’s extra bodywork mass.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2010 Volkswagen PASSAT B6 WAGON 3C φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Fitted to the B6 Wagon, the kit settles the car’s pitch under braking into a stage corner and keeps the rear axle loaded through compressions instead of skipping across them. The damper absorbs the shock of hitting uneven pavement or a large bump mid-stage, which on a factory-damped estate translates straight into a wandering rear end and a driver backing off. That absorbed energy converts into tyre traction rather than wheel patter, so the Passat holds its line over broken tarmac instead of skating across it. Removing the electronic damping control also strips out the lag of a system reacting to sensor input, replacing it with a fixed response the driver can predict corner after corner. For a wagon carrying more weight over the rear axle than the saloon, that predictability under load is the difference between a car that tracks straight and one that needs constant correction.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line specifically for sealed-stage events, where the surface is consistent but rarely smooth and the car needs to keep its wheels planted through repeated hard hits rather than a single kerb strike. The valving is set to soak up the impact of rough or cracked tarmac and larger bumps without transmitting that energy into the chassis or unsettling the body, which is what keeps the tyre’s contact patch working instead of skipping. XYZ Racing carried its own tarmac rally programme experience into the damper tuning, so the compression and rebound settings reflect what actually happens on a stage rather than a generic road-going compromise. Stability under those conditions is the stated aim: a chassis that holds its intended line through a sequence of rough sections rather than requiring constant correction. For the B6 Wagon specifically, this cancellation-kit version deletes the OE electronic damper control so the fixed-rate valving isn’t overridden by a system built for a different brief.

Fitment for the Volkswagen PASSAT B6 WAGON 3C φ55 (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2005-2010)

Built for the VO32-C chassis code covering the Volkswagen Passat B6 Wagon 3C across the 2005 to 2010 model years. This variant includes the cancellation kit required to delete the factory electronic damping control on cars fitted with it from the factory, and uses the φ55 strut body specification for this chassis.
