XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Volkswagen JETTA MK5 (JETTA 3 IN EU) φ55 (Modified Rear Integrated) 2005-2011

Loose-surface events ask something a tarmac coilover was never built to give the Jetta MK5’s PQ35 platform: sustained wheel travel over ruts, washboard and mid-corner compressions, rather than outright grip on a clean, flat surface. The MK5 Jetta (sold in Europe as Jetta 3) carries its weight nose-first over a MacPherson strut front end, and on gravel or snow that mass wants to keep loading the outside front tyre well past the point where a road-biased damper runs out of stroke.

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow kit is built around that exact problem. Front and rear travel is extended beyond XYZ’s road and circuit ranges specifically so the axles have somewhere to go before topping or bottoming out on a jump, dip or badly cambered stage section, and the "Modified Rr Integrated" rear spec keeps that extra stroke usable within the Jetta’s factory mounting points.

What this coilover does for your 2005-2011 Volkswagen Jetta MK5

The extra front and rear travel keeps the tyres loaded and in contact through repeated compressions instead of skipping across the surface, which is where a Jetta MK5 loses time and traction on loose ground. XYZ has also increased the internal suspension oil and nitrogen gas volume over its standard dampers, which holds shock temperature down through back-to-back stage runs or long track sessions rather than letting the oil cook and the damping fade. The three external adjustment knobs let you retune compression and rebound as conditions change between a gravel stage, a snow-covered forest road and a tarmac circuit section, without pulling the dampers apart. On a nose-heavy FWD chassis like the Jetta MK5, that combination keeps the front axle settled under power and braking instead of pattering over broken surfaces.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is XYZ’s damper for rally and rallycross use, and the internals reflect that brief rather than road-going comfort. Travel front and rear is longer than the rest of the range, giving both axles a bigger buffer before running out of stroke on jumps, crests and hard landings. The suspension oil and nitrogen gas charge is larger than in XYZ’s standard coilovers, which is what keeps shock oil temperature under control after sustained hard use rather than letting it overheat and lose consistency. Adjustment runs through three external knobs feeding a small-orifice oil circuit; over big hits that narrow passage can produce a faint clicking or ticking noise, which is a normal side effect of the valving rather than a fault. The same construction is equally at home absorbing kerb strikes on a circuit track, which is the other environment XYZ built this unit for.

Fitment for the Volkswagen Jetta MK5 (2005-2011)

Built for the Volkswagen Jetta MK5 (Jetta 3 in EU markets), chassis code VO25-A, covering 2005 to 2011 build years. This is the φ55 strut-diameter version with the Modified Rr Integrated rear mounting spec, so confirm your Jetta uses this rear configuration before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
