XYZ Racing Top Sport Coilovers — Toyota COROLLA ALTIS E170 (OE Rear Integrated) 2013-2018

The E170 Corolla Altis carries its weight over a front-heavy, torsion-beam layout that was tuned by Toyota for ride comfort, not corner load. Under trail-braking the nose dives and the rear beam just follows along, which is fine on a commute and frustrating the first time you push the car on a B-road or a track day.

The Top Sport coilover is built for exactly that gap: enough control to stop the front end diving and wallowing through direction changes, without turning the Altis into something you dread driving to work on Monday.

What this coilover does for your 2013-2018 Toyota Corolla Altis

Because the E170’s rear is a torsion beam, all the tuning work happens where it counts – at the front struts and in how the OE-integrated rear responds to load transfer. Raising damping 30-50% over the standard factory setting keeps the front tyres loaded and gripping through a corner instead of skating over broken tarmac. The stiffer setup also cuts down on the shock body movement that makes the standard suspension feel vague when you’re carrying speed into a bend, so the front tyres see a more consistent contact patch and hold their line rather than washing out. On UK B-roads, where surfaces are rarely flat, that extra control shows up as less nose-dive under braking and a noticeably flatter attitude through fast direction changes – without the front end crashing over expansion joints the way a full track setup would.

About the Top Sport coilover

XYZ Racing’s Top Sport spec increases damping by 30-50% and lifts spring rate by around 2kg/mm over a standard street tune, a deliberate middle ground rather than a full race setting. That extra firmness is there to absorb the hit from a pothole or a heavy expansion joint without letting the shock body kick back and unsettle the car, which in turn keeps the tyres planted and the chassis stable when you’re driving with intent. The settings themselves come out of XYZ’s own Top Sport racing programme, so the damping curve is built around repeated hard inputs rather than a single showroom test drive. It’s pitched at owners who want a car that can handle a track day and aggressive back-road driving, then still be driven home afterwards.

Fitment for the Toyota Corolla Altis E170 (OE Rr Integrated) (2013-2018)

This kit is built specifically for the Toyota Corolla Altis E170 chassis (code TO28-1) covering the 2013 to 2018 model years, with the rear retaining the OE-integrated torsion-beam arrangement rather than a separate rear damper conversion. Confirm your Altis falls within this year range before ordering, as Toyota revised the E170 platform at both ends of this window.
