XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Tesla MODEL S Plaid + (4WD) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2021-2026

The Model S Plaid’s problem at the line isn’t power, it’s putting over a tonne of instant tri-motor torque onto tarmac before the stock air suspension can react. Factory adaptive damping is tuned for a luxury saloon ride, not a 9-second pass, and it fights the weight transfer a hard launch demands rather than using it.

The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Tesla Model S Plaid + (4WD) replaces that system entirely, and because this Plaid runs electronic adaptive damping from the factory, this kit ships with the cancellation hardware needed to remove the stock module from the equation before the new dampers go in. What’s left is a set of coilovers built specifically around the 0-400m launch, not a compromise borrowed from a road-and-track platform.

What this coilover does for your 2021-2026 Tesla Model S Plaid

Drag-specific valving lets you load the rear axle deliberately under launch, shifting weight onto the driven wheels at the exact moment the tri-motor system delivers peak torque, which is when a 2.1-tonne EV is most likely to break traction. That controlled weight transfer increases contact-patch compression on the rear tyres, cutting the wheelspin that costs a Plaid tenths at every launch. Ride height and damping are set for repeatable, straight-line stability at speed rather than cornering compliance, so the car tracks true through the traps instead of wandering as the suspension unloads. Because the electronic damping cancellation kit removes Tesla’s adaptive system from the circuit, the coilovers respond purely to the mechanical settings you choose, not a computer trying to smooth out a launch it wasn’t designed for.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing range is purpose-built for 0-400m runs across FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms, and the Model S Plaid’s dual-motor-plus front axle puts it firmly in the 4WD category the kit is tuned for. The core idea is weight distribution on demand: the setup allows the front and rear ride height and damping to be set so that weight moves onto the transmission wheels the instant the car launches, rather than gradually as the chassis settles. That instant compression on the driven tyres is what shortens wheel idle time, the brief period after launch where a tyre is spinning faster than the car is moving, and it’s the single biggest variable between a clean 60-foot time and a wasted one. The same setup keeps the car settled once it’s moving, which matters more on a Plaid than most, given how quickly it’s travelling by the time it crosses the beams. It’s a mechanical solution to a problem Tesla’s own software can only partially manage, which is why this fitment includes the module needed to take that software out of the loop.

Fitment for the Tesla Model S Plaid + (4WD) (2021-2026)

Built for the Tesla Model S Plaid + (4WD), chassis code TE05-C, covering 2021 to 2026 production. This fitment includes the cancellation kit required to disable the factory electronic adaptive damping system before installing the coilovers, which is mandatory on this platform rather than optional.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
