XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Seat LEON 5F Φ55 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated 2012-2026

Gravel throws the same corner at you three different ways depending on line, camber and whatever the last car through has moved around. The Leon 5F’s multi-link rear was never set up to cope with that kind of unpredictable input at speed, which is exactly the gap this Gravel Rally coilover is built to close. Inverted-tube construction and long-stroke travel let the damper follow broken, cambered surfaces without skipping or bottoming out mid-corner.

This is a stage-specific setup, not a fast-road compromise. Long springs work with the extended stroke to soak up chassis vibration from washboard sections and high-speed compressions, while still controlling the car under the G-loads a Leon generates turning into a gravel hairpin.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2026 Seat LEON

Fitted to a 5F Leon, the extended stroke keeps the wheel tracking the ground through compressions that would have a standard-length damper topping or bottoming out, which matters on a chassis whose multi-link rear is already working to manage lateral loads on loose surfaces. The inverted-tube layout resists the fade that comes from repeated hard hits on rutted gravel, so the damping stays consistent stage after stage rather than softening as oil temperatures climb. Vibration absorption through the long spring keeps the front and rear axles settled over washboard and sandstone sections instead of skating across the surface. Turn-in on loose gravel becomes more predictable because the setup is built to bear the extreme cornering G-force a Leon can generate without the rear stepping out unannounced. The result on the 5F is a car that stays composed transitioning between grip levels mid-stage, which is the difference between carrying speed through a rough section and lifting to keep it pointed straight.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built this damper specifically for rally and rallycross use, where road surfaces are the most aggressive a competition car will see. The inverted-tube design was chosen because it copes better with the constantly changing conditions of a gravel stage – sandstone one corner, snow or silt the next – than a conventional upright damper. Stroke length and spring length are both extended over a road or circuit unit, giving the damper room to absorb chassis vibration from rough, bouncy surfaces at speed while still managing the extreme G-forces generated when the car turns in. Every spring rate offered in this range has been set and tested by an actual rally racing team, not calculated from a spreadsheet, so the rates reflect what has worked under real stage conditions rather than a theoretical ride-height target.

Fitment for the Seat LEON 5F (2012-2026)

Built for the Seat Leon 5F, chassis code SE23-4, covering the 2012 to 2026 range fitted with the rear multi-link suspension layout. This is the rear-integrated Modified Rr configuration, so confirm your Leon’s rear suspension type matches before ordering.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.
