XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Seat LEON 5F Φ55 (Rear Multi-Link Suspension) 2012-2026

The Seat Leon 5F’s MQB-based front end already carries most of the load under acceleration and trail-braking, and on a tarmac rally stage that load lands over crests, dips and camber changes rather than a clean circuit apex. The Φ55 platform’s multi-link rear is capable of real wheel control through fast direction changes, but only if the damper behind it can settle the body just as fast. XYZ Racing’s Tarmac Rally coilover for the Leon 5F is built around that repeated-hit reality rather than single-lap circuit driving.

Where a track-day setup is tuned for sustained cornering loads on a known, smooth surface, this kit is calibrated for the opposite: broken, unpredictable tarmac taken flat-out, back to back, for the length of a stage. That’s the brief this Tarmac Rally spec is built to answer on a Leon.

What this coilover does for your 2012-2026 Seat LEON 5F Φ55 (Rr Multi-link Suspension)

Fitted to a 2012-2026 Leon 5F, this coilover changes how the car reacts when the front axle meets a bump mid-corner instead of hitting it in a straight line. Rather than the wheel skipping across the surface, the damper absorbs the jolt so the tyre stays pressed onto the road, which is what actually keeps traction under power and under braking. That composure carries through to the multi-link rear too, holding the axle settled through the compressions and crests that a rally stage throws up far more often than a circuit does. The net effect on the Leon is a car that stays predictable when the road surface stops being smooth, rather than one that’s only composed when it is.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Tarmac Rally line specifically for sealed-stage rally use, where the same road produces very different inputs than a circuit lap – sharp edges, crown changes and compressions taken at speed with no room to back off. The damper’s job in this spec is soaking up that impact before it reaches the chassis, so a hit that would unsettle a lesser-tuned unit instead gets absorbed while the tyre keeps its footprint on the tarmac. That’s the mechanism behind the traction gain: a wheel that stays loaded is a wheel that keeps gripping, whether that’s braking into a hairpin or powering out of a dip. The valving carries over settings from XYZ Racing’s own tarmac rally outings rather than a fast-road tune adapted after the fact, aimed at keeping the car settled and controllable stage after stage, not just smoothed out for one clean pass.

Fitment for the Seat LEON 5F Φ55 (Rr Multi-link Suspension) (2012-2026)

This kit is specced for the Seat Leon 5F under chassis code SE23-2, covering the 2012 to 2026 production run built around the 55mm-strut (Φ55) front end paired with multi-link rear suspension. Seat ran more than one rear suspension layout across the 5F generation, so confirm your car uses this multi-link rear arrangement, not a torsion-beam setup, before ordering.
