XYZ Racing Racing Spec Coilovers — Seat ALTEA 5P φ55 2004-2015

The Altea 5P’s tall MPV body and torsion-beam rear pack more compliance into the standard mounts than a track car should carry, and that soft-loaded rear end is exactly where lap times leak away when the front turns in sharper than the back can follow. Racing Spec is the answer for the SE03-chassis Altea owner running it in earnest – sighting laps, time-attack, or a full club-race weekend rather than a fast blast to the shops.

This isn’t a fast-road kit with a firmer spring fitted. Every setting on this damper has been pulled from XYZ’s own direct participation in circuit racing, including WTCC-level competition, so the compression and rebound curves are calibrated against what a car actually does at the limit of grip rather than what feels comfortable on a B-road.

What this coilover kit does for your 2004-2015 Seat Altea

Fitted to the 5P, the kit tightens the body control that the factory torsion beam simply wasn’t set up to deliver, cutting the roll and pitch that make a tall-bodied Altea feel unsettled mid-corner. Ride height drops to a track-relevant stance, lowering the centre of gravity and sharpening turn-in response without the vague, elastic feel of the standard rear axle under load. Damping is set stiff enough to resist dive under braking into a chicane and squat under power out of it, so the platform stays flat when you’re asking the most of it. Because the tuning is derived from race participation rather than a generic fast-road map, the kit holds its composure through repeated hard sessions instead of fading or wallowing after the first few laps.

About the Racing Spec coilover

Racing Spec is XYZ Racing’s dedicated circuit-racing damper, built from settings developed through the brand’s own entries in professional racing, including WTCC. Where a road-biased coilover has to compromise between comfort and control, this one is tuned purely around what a car needs at race pace – predictable weight transfer, resistance to fade, and a chassis that stays consistent from the first flying lap to the last. For Altea owners running genuinely aggressive builds – cars carrying factory-race-style upgrades or A-class competition preparation – XYZ can go further still: supply full details of what’s already been upgraded on your car and which circuit you intend to run, and a custom-specified shock absorber can be built around that specific setup rather than a catalogue configuration. That’s the level this range operates at – a damper built from race data first, with the option to have it built around your particular car second.

Fitment for the Seat Altea 5P (2004-2015)

This kit is fitted specifically to the Seat Altea 5P, chassis code SE03, covering the 2004 to 2015 production run. Confirm your car sits within this chassis and year span before ordering, as the 5P’s torsion-beam rear and mounting points are specific to this generation.
