XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Nissan TEANA J31 4 CYL 2003-2008

Standing-start traction is the whole game with a front-driven J31 Teana, and it’s exactly what the factory suspension isn’t built for. XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover moves weight onto the driven wheels the instant you leave the line, instead of letting the nose rise and the front-biased chassis wallow through the first sixty feet.

For a 0-400m pass in a FWD Teana, that transfer has to happen in a fraction of a second, and it has to happen the same way every run. This kit is built specifically around that launch phase, not general road manners.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2008 Nissan Teana

Off the line, the setup shifts load rearward and down onto the front contact patch faster than the stock springs and dampers allow, so the tyres compress harder and grip sooner instead of spinning through the first few car-lengths. That earlier bite shortens the idle period between throttle application and the tyre actually hooking up, which is where FWD cars typically bleed the most time. Stability through that same window improves too – less wheel hop, less unwanted movement through the driveline as torque hits the front axle. Because the geometry is set up around a straight-line launch rather than cornering loads, it does the launch phase job without the compromises a track-biased spring rate would introduce on a car that’s only ever going to see a drag strip.

About the Drag Racing coilover

This is a coilover built around one manoeuvre: the launch. The valving and spring rate are set up to redistribute weight between front and rear the moment the car moves, working with whichever wheels are actually driven – front, rear or all four, depending on platform. On a FWD car like the Teana, that means pushing load onto the front tyres at the exact moment they need it, forcing greater compression into the contact patch than a standard damper would allow. That compression is what cuts the idle time before the tyre transitions from spinning to gripping, and it’s also what keeps the car settled at speed once it’s through that transition. It’s a single-purpose design – not tuned for turn-in or ride comfort, but for repeatable, controllable weight transfer at the start line.

Fitment for the Nissan Teana J31 (2003-2008)

This kit is specced for the Nissan Teana J31, chassis code NI65, covering the 4-cylinder variant built between 2003 and 2008. Confirm your engine variant matches the 4-cylinder spec before ordering, since J31 Teanas were also sold with a V6.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
