XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz CLS C218 8 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2011-2018

The CLS C218’s factory Airmatic air suspension and electronic damping control were tuned for silky motorway progress, not for holding a controlled angle through a hairpin under power. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover kit for the CLS C218 8 CYL replaces that self-levelling electronic system outright, and the bundled cancellation kit deletes the factory damping control module so the car runs clean, without a dash full of suspension fault warnings.

For a car this size, a heavy V8 four-door coupe with weight pulled toward the nose, getting the front end to load predictably and the rear to step out on command takes a proper fixed suspension platform underneath it. This kit is built for exactly that: circuit-based drift work where ride height, damping and adjustment range all have to be set for the driver, not for a factory comfort algorithm.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2018 Mercedes Benz CLS C218 8 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping)

Dropping the C218’s ride height on a proper coilover, rather than relying on Airmatic’s lowest setting, pulls the centre of gravity down on a car whose length and mass otherwise work against fast direction changes. With the correct bump stroke set for a lowered ride height, the chassis settles into a drift line more predictably instead of pitching on its nose under trail braking. The three external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound circuits at each corner, which matters on a nose-heavy V8 where front-end grip needs to be metered independently of how hard the rear is being driven into a slide. Because the damping oil is routed through a deliberately small internal passage, expect a bit of extra noise over sharp bumps: that is the valving doing its job, not a fault.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Pro Racing Drift Spec range specifically for competitive drift racing, where the priority is keeping the body settled through a high-speed turn so the driver can hold a clean, repeatable angle rather than fight the chassis. The valving is tuned to firm up body control precisely when a car is being driven sideways at speed, a different demand to a road-biased fast-road coilover chasing outright grip. Once the ride height is lowered and the bump stroke is matched to the car, the change in how controllable the slide becomes is immediate. Each damper uses three external adjustment knobs feeding a small internal oil passage, a deliberately restrictive design that sharpens response but does produce some extra noise on rough circuit surfaces. XYZ Racing built this range for circuit track use, where that noise is an accepted trade-off for the control it buys.

Fitment for the Mercedes Benz CLS C218 8 CYL (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) (2011-2018)

This kit is specced for chassis code ME20-2-C, covering the C218-generation CLS built between 2011 and 2018 with the V8 (8 CYL) engine option. Because the C218 8 CYL left the factory with Airmatic electronic damping, this listing bundles the cancellation kit needed to run the mechanical coilover without triggering suspension fault codes on the dash. Check whether your CLS runs the electronic Airmatic system before ordering, since the standard non-cancellation kit is a separate listing.

Every Pro Racing Drift Spec kit for the CLS C218 8 CYL comes with the cancellation kit built in, so all that is left is picking the damping spec that matches how you intend to drive it. Configure yours below.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
