XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Mercedes-Benz C CLASS W204 8 CYL 4WD 2007-2014

Traction is the entire problem with putting a W204 C-Class 4WD down a strip. The 8-cylinder cars carry real weight over the nose, and on a hard launch that mass needs to transfer onto the rear contact patch fast enough to stop the tyres spinning away the advantage before the all-wheel-drive system can even sort itself out. XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover is built around that one problem.

This isn’t a fast-road or track-day spring-and-damper combination retuned for a strip. It’s a dedicated launch-and-run setup for the C-Class W204, built to control how weight moves between axles in the half-second that decides a run.

What this coilover does for your 2007-2014 Mercedes Benz C Class

On a 4WD W204, launch is won or lost in the weight transfer. This kit lets you set front and rear ride height independently, shifting static and dynamic weight onto the tyre that’s actually doing the work at the moment of launch, rather than leaving the C-Class sat on a road-biased setup that fights the drivetrain instead of feeding it. Compressing rear travel and controlling front rise cuts the amount of time the front-drive components spend unloaded and the rear tyres spend spinning before they hook up, which is exactly the idle-wheel-time the vendor spec targets. For a heavy 8-cylinder 4WD saloon, that translates into a shorter, more repeatable 60-foot time run after run, without touching anything else in the drivetrain. The adjustability is set up once per car and per strip, not re-dialled between runs, so the C-Class arrives at the line already configured for the launch you’re planning.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing built this range specifically for 0-400m drag work across FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms, which matters on a W204 because the C-Class’s factory all-wheel-drive hardware doesn’t naturally bias weight for a straight-line launch the way a stripped RWD car does. The setup allows the front and rear ride height to be changed independently so weight can be forced onto the driven wheels at the moment of transmission engagement, rather than left where a daily-driving spring rate puts it. Forcing greater compression into the tyre that’s transmitting power reduces the wasted time that wheel spends unloaded, and that stability carries through as speed builds down the strip. It’s a construction aimed squarely at repeatable launches rather than ride comfort or cornering balance, and on a chassis as heavy as the C-Class 8-cylinder 4WD, that distinction is the whole point of fitting a dedicated drag-spec kit instead of a general-purpose coilover.

Configure the exact spec for your W204’s drivetrain and strip below.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Pillow ball + rubber top mountPillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
