XYZ Racing Gravel Rally Coilovers — Jaguar XJ (X351) 6 CYL (Fr FORK) (OE FOR REAR AIR STRUT) 2010-2019

The Jaguar XJ (X351) arrived from the factory as an air-sprung luxury saloon, its standard rear air struts tuned for motorway isolation rather than compression events over broken ground. Fitting a car this size for gravel-stage work means solving that rear end first, and XYZ Racing’s Gravel Rally coilover kit does exactly that: it replaces the OE rear air strut with a coil-over damper built for repeated, aggressive loading, while up front an inverted fork-tube damper handles the X351’s considerable nose weight.

This is the Gravel Rally spec, not a road or circuit unit. It’s built for a different problem: standing starts on loose surfaces, mid-corner compressions that arrive without warning, and rear axle travel that has to survive a full stage rather than a lap.

What this coilover kit does for your 2010-2019 Jaguar XJ

Swapping the factory air struts for a fixed coilover at the rear removes the air system’s slow response and gives the X351 predictable, repeatable ride height under hard compression – important on a car this heavy when the rear axle is loading and unloading over ruts and crests. The long-stroke, long-spring layout absorbs chassis vibration transmitted through the rear subframe before it reaches the body, and it’s built to keep working after the third or fourth hit of the same stage, not just the first. Up front, the inverted fork-tube design keeps the damper stiffer under the X351’s nose-heavy 6-cylinder weight distribution, helping it hold a line through braking zones where a big saloon wants to dive and push wide. Spring rates are set for gravel and rally-cross surfaces specifically – sandstone, snow, silt – rather than tarmac, so the kit resists bottoming out on the kind of high-speed, bouncy compressions a stage throws up rather than a circuit.

About the Gravel Rally coilover

XYZ Racing developed the Gravel Rally line specifically for rally and rally-cross competition, where the road surface is deliberately the most punishing a chassis will see in any motorsport discipline – loose stone, mud, sand and snow, sometimes within the same stage. The front damper uses an inverted tube construction, putting the larger diameter tube at the top to reduce unsprung mass and sharpen response to rapid, high-frequency inputs. Stroke length and spring length are both extended well beyond a road or track-focused unit, giving the axle the travel it needs to absorb a chassis-jarring compression without topping or bottoming through the stroke. That extra travel matters most under cornering load, where the kit has to bear extreme G-force through a turn while still tracking a rough, unpredictable surface underneath. XYZ Racing sets the spring rates on this range using data from its own rally racing team rather than generic road-going figures, so the damping and spring combination is proven against loads a gravel stage actually produces.

Fitment for the Jaguar XJ (2010-2019)

This kit is specified for the Jaguar XJ X351, 6-cylinder models, built between 2010 and 2019. The front uses XYZ Racing’s inverted fork-strut design; the rear is engineered as a direct replacement for the factory air strut, so no separate air-suspension delete or standalone conversion kit is needed. Confirm your XJ is the 6-cylinder X351 variant before ordering, as this spec is not shared with V8 or supercharged models.

Spec is fixed to the X351’s 6-cylinder chassis and its factory rear air strut mount, so there’s no guesswork on compatibility – configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. In all racing events, road condition of Rally Cross is the most aggressive one. Hence, it means that the shock absorber is the most important utensil during the Rally gravel competition. We develop inverted tube design to meet each different road condition as sandstone, snow or silt. Long stroke and long spring which enable to absorb chassis vibration, aggressively attack from high speed bouncy road and bear extremely G-force when turning. All spring rate setting are tested by Rally Racing team.

Top mounts included with your kit
