XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Hyundai GENESIS COUPE BK 2.0T (Modified Rear Integrated) 2008-2010

The BK Genesis Coupe’s 2.0T is the lighter-nosed half of the range, and on a sealed-stage tarmac rally car that matters more than most owners assume: less mass over the front axle means the chassis reacts faster to a damper change, for better or worse. This Tarmac Rally coilover is built specifically to handle the compressions, crests and mid-corner surface breaks that stage tarmac throws at a car running well beyond road speeds.

For a BK running the modified rear, rear-integrated set-up, the priority isn’t outright stiffness – it’s controlling body movement over broken surfaces without the axle skipping off-line. This kit is calibrated for exactly that brief: fast, repeated inputs on imperfect tarmac rather than the smooth, consistent grip of a circuit.

What this coilover does for your 2008-2010 Hyundai GENESIS COUPE BK 2.0T (Modified Rr Integrated)

On a stage-going Genesis Coupe, the biggest gain is composure over the stuff a smooth circuit never presents: crests, camber changes, and patched or degraded tarmac taken at speed. The damper is tuned to absorb the impact through larger bumps rather than transmitting it straight into the chassis, which keeps the tyre in contact with the road instead of skipping across it. That directly protects traction under power out of a rally-style corner exit, where the 2.0T needs every bit of grip it can find. Suppressing body shock through the mid-corner also holds the car’s line more predictably when the surface drops away underneath you, so the front-to-rear balance stays where you left it rather than shifting under compression. For the modified rear, rear-integrated layout specifically, that translates into a rear axle that stays planted through the same hits the front is absorbing, rather than one end settling faster than the other.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally line around one job: soaking up the impact of uneven pavement without losing the car’s composure mid-stage. The valving is set to absorb the jolt from larger bumps and compressions specifically, suppressing body shock so the tyre keeps its contact patch and traction is preserved rather than broken loose over rough sections. That’s a different design target to a smooth-circuit coilover – stage tarmac is rarely flat, and the damper has to keep working through repeated hits rather than one clean compression per lap. The result, per XYZ’s own tarmac rally programme, is a car that holds its stability and handling character consistently as the surface degrades, with the full damper settings drawn directly from that rally experience rather than adapted from a track-day base. It’s a purpose-specific tune, not a general-purpose coilover pressed into rally service.
