XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Ford FOCUS HATCHBACK (Rear Twist-beam Suspension) Modified Rear Integrated 2019-2026

Launching a torsion-beam Focus hard off the line asks more of the rear axle than any road-going setup was built for. The stock twist-beam geometry wants to sit level; a drag pass wants the opposite – instant weight transfer onto the driven wheels the moment the clutch or converter locks up. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover is built around that conflict, not around lap times.

Where a Top Sport or Super Sport kit chases mid-corner body control, this Drag Racing spec chases the first two seconds of a run. It is set up for straight-line launch loads on a Focus Hatchback, FWD, RWD or 4WD alike, not for track driving.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 Ford Focus Hatchback

The core trick is a damper and spring setting that lets the car’s weight shift onto the transmission’s driven wheels the instant you get on the throttle, rather than fighting that transfer the way a stiffer track-oriented setup would. On the twist-beam rear of this Focus, that means the axle is allowed to load up under launch instead of staying pinned flat, which puts more compression into the contact patch when it matters most. More compression at the tyre means less time spent with the wheel spinning free before it hooks up, and a shorter, more repeatable window between launch and full traction. It also stabilises the car through that transition rather than letting it hop or wander as the beam axle settles, so runs stay consistent from one pass to the next. None of this is tuned for cornering grip – ride quality and turn-in are not the brief here.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing designed this range specifically for 0-400 metre drag racing, covering FWD, RWD and 4WD platforms with one underlying principle: control how weight moves front-to-rear under hard acceleration. The damping and spring rates are calibrated to encourage that instant transfer onto the driven axle rather than resisting it, which is the opposite priority to a circuit-oriented coilover. On a FWD Focus that means getting load onto the front driven wheels as fast as possible; the same logic in an AWD Focus RS-style build biases the split so both axles hook up cleanly. The result is a setup built to reduce wheel spin at launch and hold the car stable as that weight settles, run after run at the strip, rather than a setup built to hold a line through Copse or Eau Rouge.

Fitment for the Ford Focus Hatchback (2019-2026)

This kit is built for the Ford Focus Hatchback fitted with the rear twist-beam suspension layout, chassis reference FO24, covering model years 2019 to 2026. Confirm your Focus uses the twist-beam rear (rather than an independent multi-link rear) before ordering, as the two rear architectures take different kits.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Iron top mountIronIRONIron upper mount — a heavy-duty housing built to take sustained load where a stronger top mount is required.
