XYZ Racing Pro Racing Drift Spec Coilovers — BMW Z4 4 CYL 2009-2016

The Z4 E89’s long bonnet and front-engine, rear-drive layout put more weight over the nose than a car this compact usually carries, and that weight has to move fast and predictably the moment you turn in for a drift entry. XYZ Racing’s Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover is built around that exact transition on the 2009-2016 Bmw Z4 4 CYL: a set-up that keeps the rear planted long enough to catch, then lets it rotate on command.

Competitive drifting punishes a chassis that cannot hold a line once the car is sideways. This kit is calibrated to stabilise the body through high-speed direction changes, so the angle you set is the angle you keep, not one that creeps or snaps back under load.

What this coilover does for your 2009-2016 Bmw Z4

Lowering the ride height on this kit, combined with a correctly set bump stroke, sharpens the initial weight transfer that starts a drift – the car answers steering and throttle input with less delay, which matters when you are setting an angle at speed rather than easing into one. The three external adjustment knobs let you separate compression and rebound response, so entry stiffness and mid-drift settling behaviour can be tuned independently instead of compromising one for the other. On the Z4’s chassis, that separation is useful for holding the rear end through a transition rather than fighting a single fixed damping curve. Because the internals route oil through a small-hole passage design, response stays consistent once a setting is found, which is what lets a driver repeat the same entry run after run on a circuit layout rather than relearning the car every time out.

About the Pro Racing Drift Spec coilover

XYZ Racing built this coilover specifically for drift competition rather than adapting a road or circuit-lap set-up. Its core job is stabilising the car’s body through fast, high-speed direction changes so the driver can hold a clean angle instead of correcting for body roll mid-slide. Dropping the ride height and setting the bump stroke correctly is central to how the kit behaves – get that right and the difference in drift control is immediately noticeable. Internally, the three adjustment knobs work through a small oil-hole passage design; on rough sections you may hear a faint noise as oil moves through that narrow passage, which is a normal characteristic of this construction rather than a fault. XYZ Racing built the kit around circuit track surfaces specifically, so this behaviour is expected and does not indicate a problem with the coilover.

Fitment for the Bmw Z4 (2009-2016)

This Pro Racing Drift Spec kit is built for the Bmw Z4 4 CYL, chassis code BM73-1, covering the 2009 to 2016 model years. Confirm your Z4’s build year and engine variant fall within this range before ordering, as the coilover geometry is matched to this specific chassis code rather than sold as a universal fit.

This suspension is especially designed for Drift racing purpose. With its special design, it helps the racers stabilize the vehicle body while in high speed turning in order to make a perfect angle. It can also enhance drifting performance. After lowering the ride height with proper bump stroke, you will realize how we made the drift controlling to the excellent condition.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
