XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 5 SERIES E60 4 CYL 2003-2010

The E60 5 Series carries its mass over a long wheelbase, and on loose surfaces that weight wants to keep moving after the chassis has already changed direction. The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover answers that with more suspension travel than XYZ Racing’s circuit-focused kits, front and rear, so the E60’s wheels stay loaded on ruts, ridges and washboard instead of skipping across them.

For a 4-cylinder E60 built for rally or rallycross work rather than tarmac lap times, that extra stroke is the difference between a chassis that tracks a loose surface and one that bottoms out and skitters off-line.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2010 BMW 5 Series E60 4-cylinder

Longer front and rear travel keeps the E60’s wheels planted on rutted gravel and snow-packed stages where a shorter-travel circuit coilover would top out or slam into its bump stops. A bigger reserve of suspension oil and nitrogen gas gives the damper more capacity to run hard over long stage distances without the oil overheating and the damping fading, which matters on a car this heavy once you’re stringing multiple stages together. Three external adjustment knobs let you retune compression and rebound between a fast, open stage and a tight, rutted one without stripping the dampers down. Ride height is adjustable too, so you can lift the E60 clear of deep ruts and snow banks without moving the spring out of its working range.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

XYZ Racing built the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow line specifically for rally and rallycross use rather than closed-circuit tarmac driving. The added front and rear travel gives the chassis a bigger buffer before the suspension runs out of stroke, which keeps the car settled when a stage throws up a compression or a jump you didn’t see coming. Internally, the damper carries a larger volume of suspension oil and nitrogen gas than XYZ’s circuit-spec kits, spreading heat over a bigger reserve so oil temperature stays under control across a long stage rather than climbing and fading the damping. The trade-off of the small-bore oil passages feeding the three adjustment knobs is a faint clicking or ticking noise over big hits – that’s the valving doing its job, not a fault, and it’s typical of this style of long-travel damper under hard compression.

Fitment for the BMW 5 Series E60 4-cylinder (2003-2010)

This kit is built to the E60-chassis 5 Series produced from 2003 to 2010, specced for the 4-cylinder engine range fitted across that generation. Confirm your car sits within this chassis code and year span before ordering, as suspension mounting points changed across the E60’s production run.

Spec the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover to your E60’s build and stage requirements – configure yours below.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
