The E46 330xi Touring’s all-wheel-drive layout puts more mass over the front axle than the standard rear-drive 3 Series ever carries, and the wagon’s longer roof and rear overhang bring a degree of body roll a saloon of the same generation doesn’t have to manage. Circuit Master coilovers for the Bmw 3 Series E46 Wagon 6 CYL 4WD are built to control both at once, cutting weight transfer under braking into a corner and keeping the rear axle settled through a fast direction change.
This is the sustained circuit lap-time end of the range – built for drivers running multiple flying laps back to back rather than a single sighting lap. On a car that already carries extra weight over the front axle from the transfer case and centre differential, spring and damping control matter more here than on the two-wheel-drive equivalent.
What this coilover does for your 1999-2005 BMW 3 Series E46 Wagon 6 CYL 4WD
Fitting Circuit Master to this xi Touring gives you 3 external adjustment knobs and 9,720 damping combinations to work with, enough range to trim the AWD car’s characteristic front push out of slow corners without loosening the rear axle on turn-in. Lowering the ride height also brings the roll centre back in line with a chassis that left the factory raised to clear a transfer case and a full-size wagon floor, so the car turns in with less of the delay stock E46 xi Tourings are known for. Braking stability improves too – with the nose no longer diving as hard under trail braking, the front tyres keep more contact patch through corner entry. Because compression and rebound adjust independently, you can firm the rear enough to counter the wagon’s longer body without transmitting every kerb strike straight into the cabin.
About the Circuit Master coilover
Circuit Master sits at the top of the XYZ Racing range, developed and run by XYZ’s own racing teams across international circuit competition before being sold as a production coilover. The damper uses 3 external knobs feeding a total of 9,720 adjustment combinations, giving a circuit driver enough granularity to separate front and rear behaviour rather than compromise on one shared setting. That adjustment range is built around a small-orifice oil-flow design tuned for consistency at circuit pace; over a rough kerb or a sharp bump, oil moving through the smaller passage can produce a faint noise, which is a normal characteristic of this design and not a fault. The damper isn’t tuned around ride comfort – it’s built for drivers doing session after session on a circuit surface, where flat, controlled damping matters more than a soft ride on the road.
Fitment for the BMW 3 Series E46 Wagon 6 CYL 4WD (1999-2005)
This kit is built specifically for the BM38 chassis – the 3 Series E46 Touring wagon with the 6-cylinder AWD (xi) drivetrain, covering the full 1999 to 2005 production run. It is not a shared fit with the rear-wheel-drive saloon or the 4-cylinder variants; the AWD Touring’s different subframe and ride height mean this spec is specific to this chassis configuration.

Spec is set per corner across compression and rebound, so get the combination that matches how you actually use the car – configure yours below.
Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
Top mounts included with your kit
Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.
Front
Pillow ball + rubberP+Pillow-ball upper with a rubber insert — adds steering precision and camber adjustability while keeping some of the factory mount’s harshness damping.
Hardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.
Rear
AluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
