XYZ Racing Circuit Master Coilovers — BMW 1 SERIES F40 3/4 CYL (Modified Rear Integrated) 2019-2026

The F40 1 Series was the generation that dropped BMW’s rear-wheel-drive layout for a front-wheel-drive-based platform shared with the MINI range, and that shift changes what a coilover needs to do on this chassis. Where the old E82 wanted help managing a live rear axle under power, the F40’s modified rear-integrated suspension needs control over body roll and load transfer through the nose, especially on 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder cars pushing hard into corner entry. XYZ Racing’s Circuit Master coilover is built around that requirement: sustained lap-time work rather than the occasional trackday outing.

For owners running the F40 hard – whether that’s a 118i on the 3-pot B38 or a 128ti or M135i xDrive on the 4-cylinder B48 – the case for this kit is repeatability. It holds its settings through a full session rather than drifting as oil temperatures climb, which matters more on a front-heavy hatchback that leans on its front axle every time you turn in.

What this coilover does for your 2019-2026 BMW 1 Series

Fitted to the F40, the Circuit Master coilover lowers the centre of gravity and firms up spring and damping rates the factory setup was never tuned to hold at circuit pace. That control shows up most under trail-braking into slow corners, where the F40’s nose-led weight transfer wants to push wide – stiffer, better-damped front struts keep the contact patch loaded instead of letting the tyre wash out. Independent adjustment at each corner also lets you correct the understeer bias built into this platform’s front-driven architecture, on either the 3-cylinder or 4-cylinder cars. Ride height comes down with the kit, tightening body control through transitions and cutting the roll that eats into cornering grip on a chassis that was never developed around a rear-wheel-drive weight split. On track, the result is a 1 Series that turns in and holds its line instead of pushing on at the limit.

About the Circuit Master coilover

XYZ Racing built the Circuit Master as the range-topping option for cars that live on circuit tracks rather than the road. Each damper offers 9720 individual adjustment combinations across 3 external knobs, giving enough range to move from a green trackday setup to a fully sorted race configuration without swapping hardware. That adjustment count comes out of XYZ’s own racing programme, where the same dampers have been run and refined by teams competing internationally. The oil circuit uses a small-passage design at each knob; on rough sections of a circuit this can produce a faint noise through the damper as oil moves through the restricted passage, which is a normal characteristic of the design rather than a fault. It’s built for repeated heavy use on track surfaces, and the construction reflects that – full-range adjustability aimed at getting a competitive setup out of the car on any given circuit.

Fitment for the BMW 1 Series F40 (2019-2026)

This kit is built for the F40-generation BMW 1 Series, chassis code BM109-1, covering the 3-cylinder and 4-cylinder cars produced from 2019 to 2026 with the modified rear-integrated suspension layout. Confirm your car sits within this chassis and year range before ordering, as earlier rear-wheel-drive 1 Series generations use an entirely different fitment.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
