XYZ Racing Street Advanced Coilovers — BMW 1 SERIES F21 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) 2011-2026

The BMW 1 Series F21 is one of the last small BMWs sold with power going through the rear wheels only, and that layout puts load through the rear axle under braking and turn-in in a way front-driven hatchbacks in its class never have to deal with. On cars built without the factory’s EDC electronic dampers, that rear-biased weight transfer is locked to whatever passive spring and damper rate BMW fitted at the factory – fine for a 116i on the school run, less fine once you start driving the car the way an F21 chassis actually wants to be driven.

The XYZ Racing Street Advanced coilover kit is built for that gap. It’s aimed at owners running the car daily who also want it properly sorted for a track day without living with a stripped-out ride the rest of the week, and it replaces the fixed factory setup on 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder F21s (excluding M-Technik, xDrive and EDC-equipped cars) with a kit you can actually tune to the road you’re on.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2026 Bmw 1 Series F21 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC)

Independent ride height adjustment lets you drop the F21’s centre of gravity and tighten up body roll through direction changes, which matters on a chassis that already has more weight sat over the rear axle than most hot hatches it gets compared to. The damping adjustment – 720 individual settings on this kit – means you can run the car soft enough for daily driving and then wind in support before a track session without swapping parts, which is the whole point of buying adjustable rather than fixed-rate. On the 6-cylinder cars in particular, where there’s more mass to control under hard braking into a corner, having that much resolution in the damper means you’re not stuck between "too soft under load" and "too harsh on a B-road" – you pick the point in between that suits how you actually drive.

About the Street Advanced coilover

Street Advanced is XYZ’s core road-and-track product, developed by the company’s own engineering team over a number of years and refined through entries in international competition before being brought down to a fast-road spec. The headline figure is 720 damping positions, giving a far finer window of adjustment than a basic 16- or 32-click damper, and the kit is built around that resolution rather than around outright stiffness – it’s meant to be lived with. It sits below XYZ’s full competition-only ranges but above entry-level fixed kits, which is why it’s positioned for drivers who use their F21 on the road but don’t want to leave performance on the table when a circuit day comes up.

Fitment for the Bmw 1 Series F21 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) (2011-2026)

This kit is specified for the BMW 1 Series F21, chassis code BM75-6, across 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engine variants built between 2011 and 2026. It excludes M-Technik trim, xDrive all-wheel-drive cars and cars fitted with BMW’s EDC electronic damper control, since those variants use different geometry or factory-adaptive damping that this kit isn’t matched to.
