XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — BMW 1 SERIES F21 4/6 CYL (excl. M-Technik. xDrive & EDC) 2011-2026

The F21’s rear-drive layout puts everything on getting weight onto the back axle in the first few tenths off the line. Without xDrive or M-Technik geometry in the way, this chassis behaves like a stock RWD hatch under launch: the nose lifts, the rear squats, and how quickly that transfer happens decides whether the rear tyres hook up or spin away the run. XYZ Racing’s Drag Racing coilover is built around that exact moment.

Whether you’re running a 4-cylinder N13/N20-engined 1 Series or one of the 6-cylinder variants, launch behaviour is the same fight: get load onto the rear contact patch before the throttle opens fully. This kit is set up specifically to help that transfer happen faster and more completely than the factory suspension allows.

What this coilover does for your 2011-2026 Bmw 1 Series

Straight-line launches live and die on how fast weight moves rearward and how well the rear tyres hold that load once it arrives. This kit is set up to shift the F21’s front-to-rear balance harder under launch than the standard setup permits, loading the rear contact patch sooner and reducing the window where the tyre is spinning instead of gripping. Less idle wheel spin off the line means more of the engine’s torque goes into forward motion rather than heat. For a 4-cylinder car that’s chasing every tenth on a shorter power band, or a 6-cylinder car with torque to manage, that translates directly into a cleaner, more repeatable 0-400m run rather than a burnout at the tree.

About the Drag Racing coilover

This kit is engineered around 0-400m drag use rather than circuit lateral loads, and it’s built to work across front-, rear- and four-wheel-drive platforms by targeting the same problem from a suspension-geometry angle: instant weight transfer under launch. The valving and spring setup are tuned to let the chassis move its front and rear weight distribution quickly the moment power goes down, forcing the driven tyre into greater compression against the road surface. That extra compression is what shortens the idle spin phase and settles the car at speed, rather than leaving it light and unstable through the far end of a run. It’s a setup built for the strip, not the apex.

Fitment for the Bmw 1 Series (2011-2026)

Built for the F21-chassis 1 Series (chassis code BM75-6), covering both 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder variants across 2011-2026, excluding M-Technik, xDrive and EDC-equipped cars. If your F21 sits outside that specification, check the model variant carefully before ordering, as adaptive damping and xDrive geometry are not covered by this kit.

Configure your Drag Racing spec for the F21 below and get the launch geometry matched to your exact build.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.

Top mounts included with your kit

Every XYZ Racing coilover kit ships with the upper mounts listed below for your exact chassis — no extra parts to source.

Front

  • Hardened rubber top mountHardened rubberRHardened rubber upper — firmer than the factory bush for tighter response while retaining road-friendly noise and vibration isolation.

Rear

  • OE (factory) mount top mountOE (factory) mountOERetains the OEM (factory) upper mount — preserves the original ride comfort, noise and vibration behaviour for a stock-like feel.
