XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally Coilovers — Audi TT 8S φ55 (Modified Rear Integrated) (Cancellation Kit for Electronic Damping) 2015-2026

The Audi TT 8S rides on the MQB platform’s stiff, aluminium-intensive shell, with a turbocharged four sitting ahead of the front axle and a Haldex-coupled quattro system feeding the rear. On a closed tarmac stage that layout means the front end loads hard into compression under trail-braking while the rear axle – reworked here with the modified Rr Integrated mount – has to stay planted over crests and off-camber sections at speed. The XYZ Racing Tarmac Rally coilover is built around that brief: a damper calibrated to absorb sharp-edged hits from broken stage surfaces without the car kicking sideways mid-corner.

This is the φ55 kit with the cancellation kit for electronic damping, which removes the factory Audi adaptive damping control loop so the coilover’s own valving runs the show front and rear. For a TT 8S built to run sealed-stage tarmac rally rather than a circuit day, that matters: independent mechanical damping that stays consistent stage to stage, with no electronics second-guessing the setting mid-run.

What this coilover does for your 2015-2026 Audi TT 8S

Fit these to a TT 8S and the biggest change you’ll feel is composure over broken surfaces: the damper absorbs sharp compressions from ruts, mid-corner bumps and stage jumps rather than passing that energy straight into the shell, so the car stays settled instead of skipping wide. Because the shock body is better controlled through those hits, the tyre keeps its footprint on the road for longer through a compression, which shows up as usable traction on loose or greasy tarmac rather than a car that’s constantly correcting itself. With the electronic damping cancelled out, the front and rear rates are set by the coilover alone, so the car’s balance doesn’t shift mid-stage as an adaptive system hunts for a setting. On a quattro TT 8S carrying weight over the nose, that consistency through direction changes is what lets you trust the front axle under trail-braking into a tightening hairpin.

About the Tarmac Rally coilover

XYZ Racing built the Tarmac Rally coilover specifically for closed asphalt stages, where the surface is rougher and less consistent than a circuit and the hits arrive at speed with no chance to lift off early. The valving is calibrated to soak up impacts from uneven pavement and the larger compressions of a big bump without transmitting that shock straight through the body of the damper, which keeps the wheel tracking the road instead of skipping over it. That control is what keeps the tyre loaded and gripping through a rough section rather than skating across the surface, and it’s the reason the car stays stable and predictable when a corner tightens unexpectedly on a stage you’ve only seen once. XYZ Racing set the base damping using data pulled directly from its own Tarmac Rally programme, so the tune reflects what actually works when a car is being driven flat out on closed public roads rather than a smooth circuit.

Fitment for the Audi TT 8S (2015-2026)

This kit is specced for the Audi TT 8S, chassis code AU46-1-C, across the 2015-2026 production run, in the φ55 rear damper diameter with the modified Rr Integrated mounting arrangement. Because the electronic damping cancellation kit is included, it’s intended for TT 8S cars originally fitted with Audi’s adaptive damping system.
