XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Nissan MAXIMA A34 2003-2008

The A34 Maxima carries a 3.5-litre VQ35DE V6 ahead of the front axle, and on gravel, snow or a broken stage that forward weight bias is the first thing to bite: the nose loads up, the inside front goes light, and a road damper runs out of stroke long before the surface stops moving. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the Nissan Maxima A34 is built for exactly that environment.

This is a long-travel, loose-surface kit, not a tarmac lowering setup. Extended front and rear travel keeps the tyres tracking ground a circuit coilover would skip straight over, while larger oil and gas volumes hold damping force steady across a full rally stage. For a heavy front-drive saloon being pushed hard on gravel or in the snow, that mix of stroke and thermal headroom is what keeps the A34 composed.

What this coilover does for your 2003-2008 Nissan Maxima A34

On a loose surface the long travel is what you feel first: the front axle stays planted over crests and compressions instead of skating wide, so the Maxima’s natural understeer becomes far easier to manage on throttle. The enlarged oil and nitrogen capacity resists fade, so the damping you set at the start of a stage is still there twenty minutes in rather than going soft as the fluid heats. Three-way adjustment separates bump and rebound, letting you soften the car for deep snow or firm it for hard-packed gravel without touching ride height. Set up well, the 2003-2008 Maxima rotates more willingly and is much less prone to washing out at the nose.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This is the rally and rallycross member of the XYZ Racing range, and the engineering reflects it. Where a circuit damper stays short and stiff, the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow runs deliberately longer front and rear travel to give the suspension a bigger buffer before it tops or bottoms out – the margin that keeps a car stable when the ground drops away. XYZ have increased both the shock-oil and the nitrogen gas volume inside the body, which raises stability and stops the oil overheating after sustained hard use, the failure mode that ends most loose-surface runs. The kit uses three adjustment knobs, and the small oil-hole design can produce a faint noise as fluid passes through on big hits – that is normal behaviour, not a fault. It is made for stages and circuits where surface impacts are part of the job, not for chasing the lowest possible stance.

Fitment for the Nissan Maxima A34 (2003-2008)

This kit is built to the A34 chassis and covers the full 2003 to 2008 Nissan Maxima run. Confirm your car is the A34 generation before ordering so the spec matches your platform; within that generation the fitment is direct.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.

Rear

  • Aluminium top mountAluminiumAAluminium upper mount — a stiff, lightweight housing that locates the damper precisely and resists flex under load.
