XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Mazda 323 1989-1994

The BG-generation 323’s rally bloodline is the reason this kit exists. Mazda took the 1989-1994 323 onto loose surfaces in period, and the geometry, weight and short wheelbase that made it quick on gravel are exactly what the XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover is set up to exploit. This is the loose-surface specialist in the XYZ range, configured for gravel stages and packed snow rather than smooth circuit tarmac.

Where a fast-road or circuit damper runs short travel and firm control, this coilover does the opposite. It gives the 323 the long suspension stroke and large fluid capacity a rally car needs to stay composed over ruts, crests and hard landings, then keep working when the stage is long and the oil is hot.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1994 Mazda 323

The extra suspension travel front and rear is the headline change you feel first: the 323 stops crashing into its bump stops over broken gravel and settles far sooner after a jump or a sudden compression. The larger oil and nitrogen gas volume means damping force stays consistent as a stage cooks the shocks, so the car behaves the same on the last corner as the first. Three independent adjustment knobs let you set the 323 up for the surface in front of you – softer and longer for snow, firmer for hard-packed gravel. The result is a 323 that tracks straighter under power and gives you the grip and confidence to commit on a surface that punishes a road damper.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

This damper is built primarily for rally and rallycross use. It runs longer travel at both ends than the circuit kits, increasing the buffer distance available before the suspension runs out of stroke and keeping the car stable over big inputs. The defining feature is internal capacity: XYZ have increased the volume of both shock oil and nitrogen gas, which raises stability and stops the oil overheating and fading after sustained hard use. Adjustment runs through three knobs, and that valving uses a small oil-hole design – when you hit a large bump the fluid is forced through a narrow passage, which can produce a faint noise. That is normal and expected behaviour for this construction, not a fault. With travel and capacity sized for rough surfaces, bumps and stage debris are not a concern for the way this coilover is engineered to work.

Fitment for the Mazda 323 (1989-1994)

This kit is built for the Mazda 323, chassis code MA13, across the 1989 to 1994 model years. Confirm your chassis code and build year against the data on this page before ordering so the spring and damper hardware matches your car.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
