XYZ Racing Drag Racing Coilovers — Lexus LS 400 (XF10) 1989-1994

The XF10 LS 400 left the factory tuned for hushed motorway isolation, not for hooking up at the line. Its long wheelbase, soft rear springs and generous static ride height let the tail squat and the rear tyres go light at exactly the moment a rear-drive launch needs the opposite. The XYZ Racing Drag Racing coilover for the Lexus LS 400 (XF10) goes straight at that problem.

Built around 0 to 400 metre running, this kit controls how the 1UZ-FE V8’s mass settles onto the driven rear axle the instant you load the line. It is a drag-focused setup for a heavyweight luxury saloon that, launched properly, has far more traction potential than its comfort-car origins suggest.

What this coilover does for your 1989-1994 Lexus LS 400

Set up correctly, the kit shifts weight rearward as the car launches, pressing the driven rear tyres harder into the tarmac at the moment grip decides your sixty-foot time. That extra compression on the drive tyres cuts the wheelspin a standard XF10 throws away off the line, so more of the 1UZ-FE’s torque becomes forward motion instead of smoke. Ride-height adjustment lets you set rake and corner weights for a repeatable hook, and the firmer platform keeps a 1700kg-plus saloon settled and tracking straight as speed climbs toward the traps. Away from the strip, you also lose the floaty wallow the standard car carries on its soft factory dampers.

About the Drag Racing coilover

XYZ Racing builds the Drag Racing coilover for one job: standing-start 0 to 400 metre acceleration. The spring and damping philosophy is designed to manage weight transfer according to which wheels put the power down, and the range spans front-wheel, rear-wheel and four-wheel-drive platforms, so the principle is applied here to the rear-drive XF10. The core idea is to let the chassis throw load toward the transmission wheels under hard launch, forcing the drive tyres into greater compression against the road. More compression means a bigger contact patch when it counts, which reduces the idle moment where a tyre spins rather than driving the car forward. As speed builds, that same controlled platform is engineered to hold the LS 400 stable instead of letting it float on its springs. Height adjustment gives you the room to set rake and launch attitude to suit your tyre and surface.

Fitment for the Lexus LS 400 (1989-1994)

This kit is cut for the first-generation XF10 Lexus LS 400 built from 1989 to 1994, the rear-drive 1UZ-FE V8 flagship. It is a coilover matched to that chassis code and year span. Confirm your car falls inside the 1989 to 1994 XF10 window before ordering, and re-check your corner balance if the car has already been modified.

What buyers also search for

  • Lexus LS 400 XF10 coilover setup for drag and standing-start launches
  • Rear-drive 1UZ-FE traction upgrade that plants the drive tyres off the line
  • Height-adjustable coilovers for setting launch rake on a first-gen LS 400
  • Lexus LS 400 suspension that controls weight transfer for quicker sixty-foot times
  • Drag coilover option for a heavyweight XF10 V8 saloon

The XF10 has the engine and the rear-drive layout to launch hard once the suspension stops fighting it. Pick your spring and ride-height spec below and build your LS 400 drag setup.

The coilovers are specially designed for 0~400 drag racing such as FWD, RWD or 4WD models. The setting allows vehicle to change the front and rear weight according to the transmission wheel in instant driving, and force the transmission tire having greater compression, which can reduce the idle time of wheel and improve the stability of the vehicle under high speed.
