XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — Ford AZTEC 1995-1998

Gravel and snow stages punish a damper in ways tarmac never does: repeated big hits, long compression strokes, and heat that climbs over the length of a stage. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the Ford Aztec is built for that loose-surface brief, with longer travel front and rear and a larger reservoir of oil and nitrogen to hold damping steady when a lesser setup is already fading.

This is the rally and rallycross end of the XYZ range, not a fast-road kit pressed into stage duty. For a 1995-1998 Aztec running gravel, snow, or mixed-surface events, it trades the low, firm stance of a circuit setup for the travel and bump compliance a car needs when the road surface disappears underneath it.

What this coilover does for your 1995-1998 Ford Aztec

The longer front and rear travel gives the Aztec a bigger buffer before it runs out of suspension, so a crested jump or a hidden rut loads the damper progressively instead of slamming into the bump stop. The enlarged oil and nitrogen gas volume is the part you feel late in a stage: shock oil that would otherwise overheat and fade after sustained hammering stays in its working range, so the car behaves the same on the final corner as it did on the first. Three external adjustment knobs let you tune the damping for deep gravel, packed snow, or a faster mixed surface without pulling the dampers off the car. The outcome is a Ford Aztec that stays planted and predictable over terrain that would have a road-biased setup skipping wide.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover was designed first for rally and rallycross, where the priority is stability over rough ground rather than the last millimetre of ride height. Both front and rear units run longer travel than a circuit kit, increasing the buffer distance that keeps the car settled when it is unloaded over a crest and then crashes back into compression. Its defining trait is capacity: the damper carries a greater volume of shock oil and nitrogen gas, which resists the heat build-up that exhausts the oil and causes fade during long, repeated use. The three adjustment knobs use a small oil-hole design, so over large bumps you may hear a faint noise as oil is forced through the smaller passage – that is normal behaviour, not a fault. While the construction targets loose-surface stages, the same long-travel, high-capacity layout copes comfortably with the bumps and kerbs of circuit use.

Fitment for the Ford Aztec (1995-1998)

This kit is matched to the Ford Aztec under chassis code FO01, covering the 1995 to 1998 model years. Confirm your car sits inside that build window before ordering, and check your exact variant against the configurator so the spring and damper specification lines up with your setup.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
