XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow Coilovers — BMW 3 SERIES E36 M3 1994-1998

Point an E36 M3 at a loose gravel stage or a snow-covered forest road and the car runs out of suspension travel long before it runs out of grip. The factory Z-axle multi-link rear and front struts were tuned for smooth tarmac, so on broken surfaces the M3 crashes through its bump stops and the back end gets nervous exactly when you need it planted. The XYZ Racing Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover for the BMW 3 Series E36 M3 is built to remove that ceiling.

This is the loose-surface end of the XYZ range: longer-travel dampers front and rear, with the oil and gas capacity to take a beating over a full stage without fading. It is a rally and rallycross tool first, set up for cars that spend their time on gravel, snow and rough ground rather than billiard-smooth circuits.

What this coilover does for your 1994-1998 BMW 3 Series E36 M3

The extended travel gives the E36 M3 a far bigger working window over ruts, jumps and compressions, so the chassis stays composed instead of pogoing off its stops. The bigger buffer distance front and rear keeps the car settled mid-corner on a surface that is constantly changing under the tyres, which translates directly into a rear axle you can lean on through fast, blind sections. Increased oil and nitrogen gas volume means damping force stays consistent deep into a long run, where a road-biased damper would have overheated and gone soft. Three adjustment knobs let you separately tune the kit to the surface, the conditions and the car’s balance.

About the Pro Racing Gravel/Snow coilover

The Pro Racing Gravel/Snow damper is engineered specifically for rally racing and rallycross, where suspension travel and thermal endurance matter more than outright ride height. The longer stroke front and rear creates a larger buffer zone that keeps the car stable when it loads and unloads quickly over rough ground. To support that, XYZ Racing increased the volume of both shock oil and nitrogen gas inside the damper body, which raises stability and stops the oil temperature climbing high enough to exhaust the shock over sustained, hard use. The kit runs three adjustment knobs with a small oil-hole design; over big bumps the oil is forced through that narrow passage, which can produce a faint noise. That is normal behaviour for this damper, not a fault, and the kit is intended for stage and circuit use where surface impacts are part of the job.

Fitment for the BMW 3 Series E36 M3 (1994-1998)

This coilover is matched to the E36-chassis BMW M3 built from 1994 to 1998. It is specific to the M3 variant rather than the standard E36 3 Series, covering the full 1994-1998 production span.

This damper is mainly design for Rally Racing or Rally Cross. With longer travel for both front and rear, it increases bigger buffer distance to keep the car stable. The most advantages of this product is to extend the amount of suspension oil and nitrogen gas which can increase the stability of the shocks and prevent the shock oil temperature too high from being exhausted after long-term use.

Because its 3 adjustment knobs with small oil hole design, when driving through big bumps, the coilover oil will go through small passage which might cause some small noise. This is normal situation. This product is made for circuit tracks and there will be no concern for bumps on the tracks.
