Caliper render for this kit:

The Volvo V60 MK1 is a heavy, nose-led estate, and its rear brakes were specified for refined daily stops rather than for shedding heat under repeated hard use. On a quick T5, T6 or five-cylinder D5 V60 – and especially on a tuned or Polestar-flavoured one – the modest rear discs are usually the first thing to complain when you start braking later and harder. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Volvo V60 MK1 (2010-2018) tackles that directly, pairing larger hollow-vane discs with an uprated caliper to add thermal headroom at the back of the car.
This is a rear-axle upgrade aimed at brake balance and heat management, not a cosmetic swap. Giving the back of the V60 more bite and fade resistance lets it carry its share of the work, so a fast estate that runs out of rear brake first instead stays settled and square as you load the pedal.
What this brake kit does for your 2010-2018 Volvo V60 MK1
The benefit you feel first is a firmer, more repeatable pedal once the brakes are hot – the larger hollow-vane discs hold more heat before fade sets in, which matters on a car this heavy on a downhill run or a loaded motorway descent. The hollow-vane disc also trims rotating and unsprung mass at the rear axle, helping the dampers keep the back tyres planted over mid-corner bumps. With Street, Sport and Racing pad compounds to choose from, you can match the rear bite to how you actually drive your V60 MK1, from quiet daily refinement to a harder track-biased setup. The result is a brake balance that supports the front axle rather than fighting it, plus the rear-end stability you want when trail-braking a long-wheelbase estate.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit takes its name from its lightweight hollow-vane disc, which removes material from the rotor to cut weight while preserving the swept area and venting needed to manage heat. Supplied as a matched left-and-right pair, the two-piece floating discs sit behind a bigger caliper to increase clamping leverage and surface area over the factory rear setup. That caliper is hollow-cast as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for harder track use that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Pad compound is selectable across Street, Sport and Racing options, so the same hardware suits a refined road car or a harder-used weekend track tool. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and braided lines keep the pedal firm under heat. The caliper is offered in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with Custom Color in any Pantone, polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold or Polished Silver, and candy finishes in Teal, Blue, Red or Orange, letting the kit either disappear behind the wheels or stand out as part of the build. It is a focused rear-axle package designed to restore brake balance on cars whose front brakes outclass the originals at the back.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
