Caliper render for this kit:

The MK7 Golf carries its mass over the front axle, and in 1.2T form there is less of it to haul down than in the hotter GTI and R cars. That leaves the rear brakes doing modest work and, on the lighter petrol trims, often under-specified for owners who lean on the car on a quick B-road or a track day. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Volkswagen GOLF 7 (2WD) 1.2T addresses that imbalance at the back axle.
It is a rear-axle upgrade built around hollow-vane discs to cut rotating and unsprung mass, paired with calipers you can colour-match and pads chosen for how you actually drive. The aim is a firmer, more progressive pedal and a rear end that keeps pace with a front upgrade rather than fading first.
What this brake kit does for your 2013-2020 Volkswagen GOLF 7 (2WD) 1.2T
Fit this kit to your 2013-2020 Volkswagen GOLF 7 (2WD) 1.2T and the first thing you feel is a cleaner, more confident pedal under repeated stops. The hollow-vane disc trims rotating mass at each rear corner, which sharpens response and eases the load the suspension has to manage over kerbs and broken surfaces. Because you choose the pad compound, Street, Sport or Racing, you set how aggressively the rear bites: Street for quiet daily manners, Sport for harder road work with the heat range for the occasional track day, and Racing for a firmer race feel that holds up to heat in a busy circuit session. Better rear thermal stability also steadies the brake balance, so the front axle is not left to do everything when you brake deep into a corner. On a nose-heavy front-wheel-drive hatch like the MK7, that balance is what turns a vague stop into a planted one.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit is a bolt-on rear-axle brake upgrade from XYZ Racing, named for its disc, a two-piece floating rotor with a hollow-vane core. Taking weight out of the disc reduces rotating and unsprung mass without losing the swept area you need for heat capacity, which is why this approach is favoured on fast-road and track builds. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for harder use that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Three pad compounds cover the range of use: Street for everyday driving, Sport for harder road and occasional track use, and Racing for sustained high-temperature work. Faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, and the caliper finishes, from the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black through premium polished-forged and candy options to any Pantone as a custom colour, let the kit show through the wheel without looking aftermarket-loud. As a rear pair it is designed to be matched to a front upgrade, restoring front-to-rear balance rather than simply bolting on hardware for its own sake.
Fitment for the Volkswagen GOLF 7 (2WD) 1.2T (2013-2020)
This kit is cut for the front-wheel-drive Volkswagen GOLF 7 in 1.2T petrol form, covering the 2013 to 2020 production span of the MK7 and the MK7.5 facelift, supplied as a left-and-right pair. It is a rear-axle fitment, so confirm you are matching it to the 2WD 1.2T car rather than a 4Motion or higher-output variant. Check your current wheel clearance and your pad compound choice before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
