Caliper render for this kit:

Barely 250 Beetle RSIs left Wolfsburg, each carrying the 3.2-litre VR6 and the 4MOTION running gear it shares with the Golf R32 of the same era. That all-wheel-drive layout puts real weight over the back axle and sends torque rearward under power, which means the rear brakes on a Volkswagen Beetle RSI R32 4WD do more work than the soft-roader looks suggest, and the factory rear setup was never specified with repeat hard stops in mind.
This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit re-equips the back axle of the 2001-2003 RSI with larger two-piece floating discs and a fixed caliper, giving the car a rear braking package that matches the front and holds its bite when the standard kit would be fading. It is the right rear upgrade for an RSI being driven the way its VR6 invites, rather than parked as a collector piece.
What this brake kit does for your 2001-2003 Volkswagen Beetle RSI R32 4WD
On a nose-heavy 4MOTION car, rear brake performance governs stability into a corner as much as outright stopping distance, and a tired rear axle is what makes a New Beetle platform feel nervous under trail braking. The larger discs in this brake kit shed heat faster and carry less rotating mass through their hollow-vane core, so the rear stays composed through a sequence of stops on a back road or a track session. Pedal feel firms up because the fixed caliper flexes less than the sliding original. With the Racing pad compound fitted, the rear axle keeps its torque-handling grip even after the discs are properly hot, which is exactly where the standard RSI brakes give up; Street keeps things quiet and low-dust for the road, and Sport sits in between for harder fast-road use with the heat range for the occasional track day.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The kit centres on a two-piece floating disc with a hollow-vane core, a construction that takes mass out of the rotor internally to cut unsprung and rotating weight without sacrificing the thermal capacity a bigger disc provides. A fixed caliper clamps the disc across a larger pad area, improving heat management and feel over the factory sliding unit. It is hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for harder use that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Pads are offered in three compounds: Street for quiet road use, Sport for harder fast-road driving and occasional track work, and Racing for sustained track heat at the rear axle. Calipers can be specified in the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, or in premium polished-forged and candy finishes, or any Pantone as a Custom colour, so the kit can sit behind the RSI’s wide-arch OZ wheels in a colour that suits the car. Faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, and everything in the package is sized specifically for the rear axle of this chassis.
Fitment for the Volkswagen Beetle RSI R32 4WD (2001-2003)
This is the rear-axle kit for the Volkswagen Beetle RSI R32 4WD built between 2001 and 2003, the limited-run 3.2 VR6 4MOTION model, supplied as a left-and-right pair. Confirm your car is the RSI variant rather than a standard New Beetle, as the running gear and brake geometry differ. Choose your pad compound and caliper colour to match how the car is driven.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
