Caliper render for this kit:

The XV (GP) was built to sit tall. Subaru raised the ride height over the Impreza it shares its platform with, and that higher centre of gravity loads the rear axle harder than most owners expect under firm braking and on long descents. The factory rear discs were specified for a soft-roader commute, not for repeat heavy stops with the symmetrical all-wheel-drive system pushing the car’s mass forward onto the nose.
This XYZ Racing rear big brake kit for the Subaru XV (GP) addresses that. It replaces the standard rear setup with a two-piece floating disc and a fixed caliper, supplied as a matched pair of left and right corners, giving the back axle the thermal headroom to stay consistent when the car is loaded with passengers and luggage and dropping down a long hill. On a crossover this size, sorting the rear is where you claw back stopping confidence.
What this big brake kit does for your 2012-2017 Subaru XV (GP)
After fitting, the first thing you notice on the XV is a firmer, more progressive rear bite that steadies the car under trail braking into roundabouts and downhill corners. The two-piece floating disc sheds heat faster than the solid factory rotor and lets the friction ring expand freely, so the pedal holds its travel through repeated stops rather than going long. Three pad compounds let you match the kit to how you actually drive: Street for everyday low-dust road use, Sport for spirited fast-road work, and Racing for track days where rear bias and fade resistance matter. Caliper colour is yours to pick at no extra cost from Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black, or a Custom Pantone, so the upgrade reads through the rear wheels as cleanly as it performs.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The Hollow rear brake kit pairs a two-piece floating disc, where the friction ring floats against an alloy bell to trim unsprung weight at the rear axle and give trapped gases and heat a route to escape under hard use, with a hollow-cast fixed caliper as standard. That delivers a stiffer, more linear pedal than a sliding factory rear caliper can manage once temperatures climb, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C and a two-year warranty for circuit use. The kit is offered with three pad compound choices, Street, Sport and Racing, so the same hardware suits a daily XV or one that sees occasional circuit time. Painted caliper colours come at no cost in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150 plus premium polished-forged and candy finishes; disc faces are drilled or slotted at the same price, and the centre bell upgrades to a five-colour anodized two-tone or titanium at checkout, so the cosmetic side keeps pace with the engineering. Because it is a rear-axle kit, it is designed to complement a front upgrade and rebalance braking effort towards the back of the car, where the XV’s height works against it.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
