Caliper render for this kit:

On the VA-generation Subaru Impreza WRX, the rear axle works harder than owners expect. Symmetrical AWD pulls weight rearward on power-down, and the factory rear discs are small enough to heat-soak after a handful of hard stops on a circuit. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit swaps them for a 286mm two-piece floating disc and matched caliper, sized to shed heat and hold a firm pedal where the standard setup starts to go long.
This is a rear-axle kit, a matched pair of left and right corners, so it is about balance more than outright stopping power. Run it with a matching front setup and you get a brake package that keeps its bias predictable through repeated threshold braking, the point at which a WRX’s tail begins to feel nervous on the way into a slow corner.
What this rear brake kit does for your 2014-2026 Subaru Impreza WRX
The two-piece floating disc strips rotating and unsprung mass from each rear corner, which the WRX feels as sharper turn-in and a rear axle that settles faster over kerbs and broken surfaces. With the Racing pad compound fitted, the rear stays inside its working temperature window through successive braking zones, so the car’s balance does not creep forward as the session wears on. Street and Sport compounds are there if the WRX is mainly a fast-road car that sees the occasional track day. The 286mm disc and its 190mm drum-in-hat parking brake bolt straight to the factory rear hub, so handbrake function and AWD geometry stay untouched. The upshot is a rear end you can trust to pull its weight, not one you nurse through the back half of a lap.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The Hollow Rear Brake Kit centres on a 286mm two-piece floating disc rather than a cast-solid rotor, letting the friction ring expand against an alloy bell to cut thermal distortion while trimming rotational inertia and exposing more surface area to dump heat. The disc carries a 190mm drum for the parking brake, matching the Subaru’s factory rear architecture so nothing about the handbrake or hub mounting changes. The caliper is a hollow-cast forging as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C and a two-year warranty for dedicated track use. Three pad compounds cover how these cars actually get used: a Street compound for predictable road manners, a Sport compound with more bite and heat tolerance for fast road and the odd track day, and a Racing compound for sustained circuit work. Caliper finish is your call across Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150 plus premium polished-forged and candy options, so the kit can hide behind the wheel or show through the spokes. Disc faces are drilled or slotted at the same price, and the centre bell upgrades to a five-colour anodized two-tone or titanium at checkout. It is a bolt-on upgrade built around the rear axle’s specific job on an AWD car, managing heat and holding bias rather than chasing the headline stopping figures the fronts already deliver.
Fitment for the Subaru Impreza WRX (2014-2026)
This kit is cut for the Subaru Impreza WRX AWD running the 286mm rear disc and 190mm parking-brake drum, across the 2014 to 2026 model span. It mounts to the factory rear hub and retains the standard handbrake mechanism. Confirm your car carries the 286/190 rear specification before ordering, as Subaru ran more than one rear setup over this period.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
