Caliper render for this kit:

The second-generation Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan puts the bulk of its braking work through the front axle, where a turbocharged engine and gearbox sit heavy over the driven wheels. The rear does comparatively little in standard trim, and on a car this nose-led that imbalance shows up fast under repeated hard stops.
This is where the XYZ Racing rear brake kit earns its place on the 2002-2012 9-3 Sport Sedan. It brings the rear axle properly into the conversation with a matched pair of rear calipers and two-piece floating discs, adding thermal headroom and bite at the back so the front brakes stop carrying the whole car on their own.
What this brake kit does for your 2002-2012 Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan
Fit this kit and the first thing you feel is a firmer, more progressive pedal under hard use. The two-piece floating discs vent heat through their hollow internal vanes, so the rear keeps biting through a string of stops rather than going wooden halfway down a long descent or a track session. With the rear pulling its share, the front pads run cooler and last longer, and the car settles more cleanly under trail-braking instead of pitching hard onto its nose. Choose the Racing pad compound and the rear will take serious heat without glazing; Street keeps things quiet and low-dust for a daily 9-3, with Sport sitting between the two for fast road. Either way, the real prize is front-to-rear brake balance.
About the rear big brake kit
This is a rear-axle package built around larger two-piece floating discs and a caliper sized for the Saab’s rear hubs. The floating mount lets the hollow-vane friction ring grow under heat without dragging the alloy bell out of true, which keeps response consistent when the brakes are worked repeatedly, and the vented internal structure gives heat an escape route from the friction surface. Disc faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, chosen when you order. Pad choice is yours across three compounds: Street for everyday road use, Sport for fast-road drivers who want more bite and heat range, and Racing for track and competition work. Caliper bodies are hollow-cast as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for dedicated track cars that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Calipers are finished in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone match available, so the kit looks the part behind an open wheel. It is a bolt-on upgrade designed to lift rear braking capacity well beyond what the 9-3 left the factory with.
Fitment for the Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan (2002-2012)
This kit is cut for the second-generation Saab 9-3 Sport Sedan built between 2002 and 2012, mounting to the rear axle of the saloon body. It is matched to that production run rather than the convertible or estate variants. Confirm your exact year and trim against the options above before ordering, as rear hardware can differ across the 9-3 range.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
