Caliper render for this kit:

The R56 Cooper S carries its weight high and forward, with the turbocharged Prince engine sitting ahead of a short 2.46-metre wheelbase. That layout leaves the rear axle light and quick to rotate, which is entertaining on a back road and a liability when the standard rear discs start to cook halfway through a track session. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Mini Cooper S (R56) is built for the second half of that equation.
This is a single rear-axle upgrade, a matched pair of rear calipers and two-piece floating discs, that gives the back of the car consistent, predictable braking under repeated heavy use. Run it alongside a front kit for a balanced setup, or fit it on its own to firm up trail-braking response and stop the rear going vague when you are leaning on it.
What this rear brake kit does for your 2007-2014 Mini Cooper S (R56)
On the road you will feel a firmer, more linear pedal and rear discs that shrug off the heat that fades the factory items. The hollow-vane, drilled disc trims unsprung mass at the rear axle, which helps the R56’s lively tail settle over mid-corner bumps. Pad compound is your call: Street keeps daily refinement and low dust, Sport adds bite and heat range for hard road work, and Racing holds bite through back-to-back laps when the rear is genuinely working under trail-braking. Because the rear responds more sharply, the Cooper S rotates more cleanly into the tight second-gear corners where this chassis has always been at its best.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
XYZ Racing’s rear kit combines a two-piece floating disc, drilled or slotted at the same price, with a hollow-bodied caliper and a matched pad set, specified for the R56 Cooper S rear axle. The hollow-vane disc sheds weight while the drilled face vents heat and gas away from the pad contact patch, which is what keeps a rear brake consistent once it has been worked hard. Three pad compounds are offered, Street, Sport and Racing, so the kit can suit a daily-driven car, a fast-road build or a regular track user. Included caliper colours at no cost are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black; a Custom Color in any Pantone, polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange are available as premium finishes, with two-tone anodized or titanium centre bells selectable when you order. A Hollow Racing caliper upgrade is offered for hard track duty. It is sized to the Cooper S R56 rear hubs rather than sold as a universal part, so the disc and caliper geometry match the car.
Fitment for the Mini Cooper S (R56) (2007-2014)
This kit fits the R56 Mini Cooper S built from 2007 to 2014, mounted at the rear axle. It is specified for the R56 chassis, so confirm your car is the R56 hatch generation rather than the earlier R53 or the later F56 before ordering. Choose your pad compound and caliper colour to match how the car is used.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
