Caliper render for this kit:

The first-generation Mazda 6, the GG saloon and hatch and GY estate, carries most of its braking load up front, which leaves the rear axle under-served the moment you start using a circuit in anger. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit redresses that balance on the NON MPS cars, the naturally aspirated, front-wheel-drive 6 rather than the turbocharged MPS, giving the back axle the thermal headroom it needs to keep pulling its weight.
This is a rear upgrade, a pair of left and right rear calipers with matched discs, aimed at owners who run their 6 hard on fast road or the occasional track day and have found the standard rear discs glazing and the pedal going long. It pairs larger, hollow rotors with a fixed caliper to cut fade and restore a firm, consistent pedal.
What this brake kit does for your 2002-2008 Mazda 6 (NON MPS)
On the road the most obvious change is pedal feel: the fixed caliper flexes far less than the sliding original, so the bite point stays where you left it instead of creeping deeper as the discs warm. Push the 6 on track and the gains compound, as the hollow rotor sheds heat faster and trims a little unsprung mass at the rear, which helps the back axle settle over kerbs and mid-corner bumps. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, let you match the kit to how the car is actually used, from a daily that sees the odd B-road blast to a weekend track tool. The end result is a rear axle that resists fade across a session and a brake balance that no longer leans entirely on the fronts.
About the rear big brake kit
XYZ Racing builds this as a rear big brake kit specifically for the GG/GY Mazda 6, so the bracketry, caliper and rotor are sized to bolt to the existing rear hub rather than forcing a generic fit. The headline construction is a two-piece floating disc that runs cooler and lighter than a solid equivalent, which matters more at the rear than people expect once heat starts soaking into the hub and pads over repeated stops. Discs are offered drilled or slotted at the same price, with two-tone anodized centre bells in five colours or titanium selectable at checkout. The fixed, hollow-body caliper clamps the disc evenly from both sides, a clear step up in rigidity over the single-piston sliding caliper the car left the factory with, and a Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C with no dust cover and a two-year warranty is offered for serious track use. Three pad compounds cover the spread of use cases: Street for road manners and low dust, Sport for a firmer bite and wider heat range, and Racing for sustained track heat. Painted caliper finishes are included at no extra cost in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, with Custom Color matched to any Pantone plus premium polished-forged and candy ranges, so the kit can be specified to match the rest of the car.
Fitment for the Mazda 6 (NON MPS) (2002-2008)
This kit is cut for the NON MPS Mazda 6 built between 2002 and 2008, in naturally aspirated front-wheel-drive form, and ships as a matched pair of rear calipers and discs. It suits owners pairing it with a matching front upgrade or running it to firm up the rear of an otherwise standard car. Confirm your 6 is the non-turbo, non-MPS variant before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
