Caliper render for this kit:

The FN2 Type-R has always braked harder at the nose than its rear axle could back up. Push a standard car through a fast circuit lap and the rear discs heat-soak long before the K20Z4 stops pulling, so the balance creeps forward and the car’s stubborn factory understeer gets worse exactly when you need the rear to stay planted. This XYZ Racing rear brake kit for the Honda Civic FN2 Type-R is about giving that rear axle back its share of the stopping job.
It is a pair of rear calipers and discs, left and right, mounting hollow-vane two-piece floating discs to a fixed caliper and letting you choose the pad compound to match how you drive, so the rear of the car keeps biting through repeated heavy stops instead of fading and dumping everything onto the fronts. On a 2007-2010 Type-R that earns its keep on track days, that is the difference between a car you can lean on and one that washes wide every time you brake deep into a corner.
What this brake kit does for your 2007-2010 Honda Civic FN2 Type-R
The headline gain is brake balance. With more consistent rear torque, the FN2’s tail stays settled under trail-braking and the nose-led understeer that defines this chassis is easier to manage rather than something you fight on every entry. The hollow-vane disc design shaves rotating and unsprung mass at the rear, which sharpens how quickly the brakes wake up and takes a little strain off the twist-beam axle’s geometry. Pick the Racing compound and the rear holds firm through a full session of heavy stops; choose Sport for a wider heat range on fast roads, or Street for quiet, low-dust daily running. Braided lines keep pedal feel linear rather than letting it go long once the discs are hot.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
The kit is built around a two-piece floating disc with hollow internal vanes rather than a solid casting, trimming weight while opening up more surface area to shed heat between braking events. That disc runs inside a fixed caliper, hollow-body as standard, which resists flex better than a sliding unit and keeps pad contact even as temperatures climb; a Hollow Racing upgrade for hard track use loses the dust cover, takes a 1000C rating and carries a two-year warranty. Pad compound is your choice across three grades: Street for quiet, low-dust manners, Sport for stronger bite and a wider heat range, and Racing for circuit duty where fade resistance comes first. Calipers are finished in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone colour and premium polished-forged (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) or candy (Teal, Blue, Red, Orange) options, so the rear hardware can be left subtle or made to show through the wheel. The whole package is engineered specifically for the rear position on this chassis, not adapted from a generic fitment.
Fitment for the Honda Civic FN2 Type-R (2007-2010)
This kit is built for the FN2-generation Honda Civic Type-R across the 2007 to 2010 model years and fits the rear axle. It is a rear-only kit, intended to correct front-to-rear brake bias rather than replace the front setup. Confirm your chassis is the FN2 Type-R before ordering, as it is specific to this platform.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
