Caliper render for this kit:

On a front-drive coupe like the Probe, the rear axle leads an under-worked life. Light, lightly loaded, and the first thing to wilt once the front discs start pumping heat rearward over a string of hard stops. That is precisely where the rear brakes on a Ford Probe V6 betray their early-90s origins on track or a quick B-road.
This XYZ Racing rear brake kit is a direct answer to that imbalance. It replaces the modest factory rear setup on the 1992-1997 Probe V6 with larger two-piece floating discs and uprated calipers, restoring front-to-rear thermal balance so the car settles under trail-braking instead of skating on a tired rear axle.
What this brake kit does for your 1992-1997 Ford Probe V6
The clearest gain is consistency. With more rotor mass and hollow-vane discs shedding heat faster, the rear axle stops fading two or three corners into a session, which keeps brake bias predictable when you lean on the pedal. Three pad compounds let you match the rear to how the car is used: Street is the quiet, low-dust road default, Sport adds bite and heat range for spirited fast-road work, and Racing is the dedicated circuit compound for repeat stops where bite has to hold as temperatures climb. Because the Probe carries its weight over the nose, a sorted rear simply lets the front do its job without the back end stepping out early or locking under load. The caliper finishes mean the hardware looks the part behind a set of open-spoke wheels.
About the Rear Brake Kit
The kit is supplied as a matched pair of two-piece floating discs and calipers for the back axle. The rotors use internal hollow vanes that trim rotating and unsprung mass while opening up venting, so heat is drawn out of the disc face rather than soaking into it, and they come drilled or slotted at the same price. Paired with the larger swept area, that means more resistance to fade than the original Probe rear brakes could offer. Three pad compounds are offered: Street for quiet road use, Sport for fast-road driving, and Racing for the track, so one part serves a road car, a fast-road build, or a track regular. The hollow-body caliper is standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Included painted finishes are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a custom Pantone colour at £150, plus premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange. It is a focused rear-axle upgrade, engineered to complement a front big brake setup rather than work in isolation.
Fitment for the Ford Probe V6 (1992-1997)
This kit is the rear-position application for the V6 Ford Probe across the 1992 to 1997 model years, the second-generation Mazda-based coupe, supplied as a pair. Confirm the year and that you are fitting the rear axle of a V6 car before ordering, and check the kit against your existing wheel clearance.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
