Caliper render for this kit:

The third-generation J-body Cavalier carries most of its mass over the front axle, and Chevrolet sent the majority of these cars out of the factory with rear drums doing very little of the braking work. On a light front-driver like this, that rearward shortfall is exactly what you feel when you start braking later into a corner: the back end contributes almost nothing, and the fronts cook. This XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit converts that lazy rear axle into a vented disc setup that actually pulls its weight, supplied as a matched left-and-right pair.
For autocross runs, the occasional track day, or a fast-road Z24 that sees harder use than GM ever intended, a rear disc conversion is one of the more honest upgrades you can make to a 1995-2005 Cavalier. It brings the rear into the braking equation and gives you something consistent to balance the front against.
What this big brake kit does for your 1995-2005 Chevrolet Cavalier
Swapping rear drums for vented discs sharpens initial bite and, more importantly, kills the fade that drum setups suffer once heat builds across repeat stops. You get a firmer, more predictable pedal because disc clamping force scales linearly where drum self-servo action does not. With the rear axle now sharing the load, trail-braking into a tight second-gear corner feels more settled and the nose washes out less. Pad compound is your tuning lever: the Street compound suits a quiet, low-dust daily Cavalier, the Sport compound steps up bite and heat tolerance for spirited road use and the odd track day, and the Racing compound is there for sustained track abuse. Matching the rear compound to the front keeps the brake balance honest now that the rear is genuinely contributing.
About the Hollow Big Brake Kit
The Hollow rear brake kit takes its name from its hollow-vane disc, a two-piece floating rotor that cores material out of the braking ring to cut rotating and unsprung mass while opening internal paths for heat to escape, with a floating bell that lets the ring expand under heat without distorting. The kit pairs those discs with bolt-on calipers and brackets sized for the Cavalier’s rear hubs, and ships with a choice of three pad compounds, Street, Sport, and Racing, so the same hardware covers a commuter or a club-day car. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade available for serious track use that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Painted calipers come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with premium polished-forged and candy options and a custom Pantone finish to match your scheme, while discs are offered drilled or slotted at the same price, braided lines are included, and the centre bell can be upgraded to a two-tone anodized colour or titanium. It is a complete rear corner solution rather than a discs-only patch, which keeps the install clean and the geometry correct.
Fitment for the Chevrolet Cavalier (1995-2005)
This kit is built for the rear axle of the Chevrolet Cavalier across the 1995-2005 model run, as a left-and-right pair. Confirm your current rear setup before ordering, as cars optioned with rear drums and those already on discs differ at the hub, and check the parking-brake arrangement on your specific trim.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
