Caliper render for this kit:

The E85 Z4 M carries the S54 straight-six over a short wheelbase, and that combination makes the car lively on the way into a corner. It will rotate willingly, sometimes more willingly than the rear axle’s standard brakes can manage once heat builds. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit addresses that directly, giving the rear axle of your BMW Z4 E85 M-Coupe/Roadster the thermal headroom to keep braking force predictable when you are trail-braking into a long entry, as a matched left-and-right pair.
Rear brake behaviour is what settles a short-wheelbase rear-drive car under load. This kit is built to hold its bite through repeat stops rather than fade after a couple of hot laps, so the back of the car stays composed instead of stepping out when you least want it.
What this brake kit does for your 2006-2008 BMW Z4 E85 M-Coupe/Roadster
After fitting, the first thing you feel is a firmer, more linear rear pedal response that does not soften as the discs come up to temperature. On a car that pivots as readily as the Z4 M, that consistency at the rear axle translates into more confidence to brake later and to hold the car straight as weight transfers forward. The three pad compound options let you match the kit to how you actually use the car: Street for quiet, low-dust road duty, Sport for fast-road work that sees the occasional track day, and Racing for sustained circuit sessions where rear stability under heavy braking matters most. Matching the rear compound to the front keeps the brake balance true. Behind the wheels, the painted caliper finishes, Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, mean the rear hardware looks deliberate rather than an afterthought.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
This is a rear-axle big brake kit engineered specifically for the Z4 M platform rather than a generic fitment. The two-piece floating disc uses a hollow-vane braking ring to shed weight and manage heat at the rear, which keeps unsprung and rotating mass in check while improving the rotor’s ability to cope with repeated heat cycles, and the floating bell lets the ring expand under heat without distorting. The kit pairs that disc with a performance caliper and a choice of three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, so the same hardware can be specified for road, fast-road or circuit use without changing the underlying setup. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Painted finishes come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black, with premium polished-forged and candy options, discs drilled or slotted at the same price, braided lines included, and a centre-bell upgrade in two-tone anodized colours or titanium. Because it targets the rear axle, it is intended to complement front braking capacity and restore the front-to-rear balance that hard driving exposes on the standard car.
Fitment for the BMW Z4 E85 M-Coupe/Roadster (2006-2008)
This kit is specified for the E85 Z4 M-Coupe and Roadster (OE185 reference) covering the 2006 to 2008 model years. It fits the rear axle only, as a left-and-right pair. Confirm your chassis code and build year against the options above before ordering, and pair the pad compound to your intended use.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
