Caliper render for this kit:

The Z4 E85’s short wheelbase and rear-biased balance make the roadster eager to rotate the moment you load the brakes into a corner. This XYZ Racing rear big brake kit for the Bmw Z4 E85 (2002-2008) gives the back axle the thermal headroom and pedal consistency to make that rotation something you can trust rather than something that catches you out, as a matched left-and-right pair.
It is built for the E85 owner who has moved past road pads and the standard discs, and who has felt the rear go vague after a few hard stops. This rear-specific kit pairs uprated two-piece discs with a stiffer caliper and a choice of pad compounds, addressing the half of the brake balance most owners leave stock until a hot afternoon at a circuit exposes it.
What this brake kit does for your 2002-2008 Bmw Z4 E85
On a car as light over the rear as the E85, the back brakes do less raw work than the fronts but heat-soak just as quickly under repeat stops. Larger two-piece discs with hollow vanes and a more rigid caliper lift that thermal ceiling, so the pedal stays firm through a full session instead of going long, and the lighter rotors trim rotating and unsprung mass at the back. The Street, Sport and Racing pad compounds let you match bite and operating temperature to how you actually drive, from a quiet, low-dust daily commute to back-to-back track laps. Stronger, more controllable rear braking also steadies the chassis on corner entry and softens the snap the short-wheelbase Z4 is known for when you trail-brake. With Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black caliper finishes at no extra cost, the upgrade reads through the wheel spokes as clearly as it is felt through the pedal.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
This is XYZ Racing’s rear-axle big brake upgrade for the first-generation Z4 roadster, sized to add braking capacity without unsettling how the car behaves on the road. The kit centres on a larger two-piece floating disc with a hollow-vane braking ring and an uprated caliper that clamps more evenly and resists flex under load, which is what keeps response consistent once the discs are hot, while the floating bell lets the ring expand under heat without distorting. Three pad compounds cover the spread from a quiet Street material, through a Sport compound for fast road and the odd track day, to a harder Racing compound that comes into its own at circuit temperatures. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use that removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Painted calipers come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black, with premium polished-forged and candy finishes available, discs drilled or slotted at the same price, braided lines included, and a centre-bell upgrade in two-tone anodized colours or titanium, so it can suit the look of the build. Because this is a rear-only kit, it is intended to complement a front upgrade and keep the Z4 E85’s front-to-rear brake balance honest rather than overpowering the back axle.
Fitment for the Bmw Z4 E85 (2002-2008)
This kit is built for the E85 Z4 roadster across the full 2002 to 2008 production run, as a left-and-right pair. Confirm your exact variant and check wheel clearance when you configure, as the larger rear discs need adequate room behind the wheel. Caliper colour and pad compound are both chosen at the point of order.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
