Caliper render for this kit:

The Z3 M-Coupe and Roadster carry their mass over a stubby 2.46-metre wheelbase, and that short rear end is exactly why the back axle repays attention. Lift or brake mid-corner in one of these and the tail moves first; a rear brake that bites cleanly and sheds heat is part of keeping that movement on your terms rather than the car’s. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the BMW Z3 M-Coupe / Roadster gives the rear axle the thermal headroom the factory setup runs short of on a hard track day, as a matched left-and-right pair.
This is a rear-specific big brake kit, sized to work with the car’s nose-led balance rather than overwhelm it. With the straight-six sitting well forward and the semi-trailing-arm rear running light, the aim is consistent, predictable rear bite that supports rotation under trail-braking without snapping the back loose.
What this big brake kit does for your 1998-2002 BMW Z3 M-Coupe / Roadster
The most noticeable change is rear pedal consistency once the discs are hot. The hollow-vane disc design trims rotating and unsprung mass at the rear hubs, which helps the brakes recover between heavy applications and keeps the back of the car settled under repeated stops. Pad compound is your tuning lever: the Street compound suits quiet, low-dust road use, the Sport pad copes with fast road and the occasional track day, and the Racing compound holds bite through a full session of high-speed stops. On a chassis this eager to rotate, a rear that releases cleanly off the pedal lets you balance the car on the brakes instead of fighting it, and matching the rear compound to the front keeps that balance honest.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The kit pairs a two-piece floating rear disc, with a hollow-vane braking ring, with a fixed caliper and a choice of three pad compounds. The hollow-vane construction reduces rotating mass against a solid equivalent, lowering the heat the rear has to dump and helping the assembly cool between corners, while the floating bell lets the ring expand under heat without distorting. The calipers clamp a larger swept area than the standard rear arrangement, raising thermal capacity for repeated heavy braking. Street, Sport and Racing pads let you match the kit to anything from fast-road use to sustained circuit work without changing hardware. The caliper body is hollow-cast as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade available for serious track use that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Painted finishes run to Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with premium polished-forged and candy options and a custom Pantone choice, discs drilled or slotted at the same price, braided lines included, and a centre-bell upgrade in two-tone anodized colours or titanium, so the rear corners can be matched to the rest of the car.
Fitment for the BMW Z3 M-Coupe / Roadster (1998-2002)
This rear kit is sized for the M-Coupe and M-Roadster built from 1998 to 2002, as a left-and-right pair. Both body styles share the same rear hub and brake architecture, so the kit suits the fixed-roof coupe and the soft-top roadster alike. Confirm your build year falls inside the 1998-2002 span before configuring.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
