Caliper render for this kit:

The E61 Touring carries noticeably more weight over its rear axle than the E60 saloon, and on a heavy straight-six estate that load lands squarely on the back brakes every time you scrub off motorway speed. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Bmw 5 Series E 61 530 targets exactly that weakness, replacing the rear discs and calipers with hardware built to shrug off the repeated heat the standard rear end struggles to shed.
Two-piece floating discs sit at the centre of the kit: a vented friction ring on an alloy bell that cuts unsprung weight at the rear axle while preserving the thermal capacity a loaded car demands. This is a rear-axle pair – left and right calipers and discs – so for a 530 Touring that spends its life carrying people and gear at a cruise, it translates to a firmer, more repeatable rear pedal when you actually lean on it.
What this brake kit does for your 2004-2010 Bmw 5 Series E 61 530
Fit this kit and the rear axle stops fighting you under hard, repeated braking. The vented rotors run cooler, so the fade that creeps in on a long descent or a string of fast stops in a loaded Touring is pushed much further back, and the braided lines keep the pedal firm. Three pad compounds let you match the car to its job: the Street compound stays quiet and clean for daily 530 duty, the Sport compound bites harder for spirited road work and the odd track day, and the Racing compound holds its friction when the rear discs are genuinely hot. Caliper finish runs from a discreet Black through Red, Yellow, Gold and Anodized Black, all included, with premium and candy options if you want the rear to match a front kit. The net effect is a 5 Series that feels planted and trustworthy from the back axle forward.
About the Hollow rear brake kit
XYZ Racing builds this as a rear-axle kit specifically for the E 61 chassis, pairing two-piece floating discs with a multi-piston caliper. The floating disc design is the headline feature, lowering rotating and unsprung mass without surrendering the heat capacity a heavy estate needs, and discs can be specified drilled or slotted at the same price. The caliper body is hollow-cast as standard, with a Hollow Racing upgrade for serious track use that loses the dust cover for a 1000C rating and a two-year warranty. Painted caliper finishes – Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black – come at no extra cost, with Custom Color in any Pantone for £150, premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange for owners matching a wider build theme. Pad choice spans three compounds – Street, Sport and Racing – so the same hardware suits a comfortable daily 530, a fast-road Touring, or occasional track use, and centre bells can be upgraded to two-tone anodized in five colours or to titanium. Everything is sized and bracketed for the rear of the Bmw 5 Series, not adapted from a generic fitment, which keeps the geometry and the parking-brake provision correct.
Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series E 61 530 (2004-2010)
This kit is cut for the rear axle of the Bmw 5 Series E 61 530, covering the 2004 to 2010 production run of the straight-six Touring. It is a rear-only kit, so it pairs naturally with a matching XYZ Racing front setup or works as a targeted upgrade where the back discs are the limiting factor. Confirm your build year against the 2004-2010 span and pick your caliper colour before you order.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
