Caliper render for this kit:

Front-wheel-drive A3s carry their mass over the nose, and the factory rear brakes are sized to match: small, and quick to feel overworked under a run of hard stops. The XYZ Racing Hollow Rear Brake Kit for the Audi A3 2WD addresses the rear of the equation, adding thermal capacity and a firmer, more progressive pedal to a corner of the car that the standard setup leaves underused.
This is a balance upgrade as much as an outright stopping one. The kit is a matched pair of left and right rear calipers and two-piece floating discs. With a choice of pad compound and a hollow-vane disc core that trims unsprung mass at the rear axle, it lets you match rear bite to a front upgrade or a heavier right foot without the back of the car going wooden mid-session.
What this rear brake kit does for your 2003-2013 Audi A3 2WD
On the road you will notice a rear brake that bites cleanly from cold and holds its feel after repeated motorway slip-road stops, rather than fading into a long, soft pedal. Push harder on a B-road or a track day and the hollow-vane discs shed heat faster, keeping the rear axle contributing instead of leaving the fronts to do everything. Lighter discs at the rear also mean less unsprung mass for the rear axle to control, which sharpens the way the back of the car settles over mid-corner bumps.
Pad compound sets how aggressive the rear is. Street is the quiet, low-dust default for predictable street manners. Sport adds bite and heat range for harder fast-road work and the odd track day. Racing gives a track-biased car the bite it needs to help the chassis rotate. So a fast-road 8P feels planted under trail-braking while a track car gets the friction it needs.
About the Hollow Rear Brake Kit
The discs are two-piece and floating with a hollow-vane core, cutting rotating and unsprung weight while keeping the friction surface area needed to manage heat. That construction earns its keep at the rear of a nose-heavy hatch, where every kilo saved is felt in how quickly the axle reacts to load.
Disc face is drilled or slotted at the same price, and centre bell upgrades, two-tone anodizing in five colours or titanium, are selectable when you order. Pad compound is yours to choose across Street, Sport and Racing. The caliper is hollow-body as standard, finished in the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with any Pantone available as a Custom Color and premium polished-forged Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver or candy Teal, Blue, Red and Orange. A Hollow Racing caliper, with no dust cover, a 1000C rating and a two-year warranty, is there for serious track use. It is a rear-axle kit, designed to complement a front big brake upgrade or to rebalance a car whose front brakes already out-class the standard rears, so the spec follows what you actually do with the A3.
Fitment for the Audi A3 2WD (2003-2013)
This kit is built for the front-wheel-drive Audi A3 across the 2003 to 2013 run – the 8P generation in its 2WD forms – and fits the rear axle only. Confirm your build year and that your car is the 2WD rather than quattro variant before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 330–356mm (rear). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
