Caliper render for this kit:

The Golf 5 was the first small Volkswagen to drive like a properly resolved car, thanks largely to its multi-link rear axle, but the 1.9 TDI still carries a cast-iron diesel block over its front wheels, and that mass tells every time you brake hard. The XYZ Racing front brake kit for the Volkswagen Golf 5 1.9 TDI (2WD) is aimed squarely at that weakness: a front axle that runs short on bite and begins to fade when the standard discs are asked to repeatedly haul a nose-heavy diesel down from speed.
This is a front big brake kit built around two-piece floating discs that shed rotating mass while adding the thermal headroom the factory setup gives up once heat builds. For a remapped TDI worked hard on fast B-roads or the occasional track day, it brings back the stopping authority the original two-piece caliper arrangement loses under sustained use.
What this brake kit does for your 2005-2007 Volkswagen Golf 5 1.9 TDI
The most obvious gain is fade resistance: larger, two-piece floating discs run cooler and hold a consistent pedal through repeated heavy stops, so the brakes do not go long and wooden after a string of corners. Trimming rotating and unsprung weight at the front also sharpens steering response and lets the damping settle faster over broken surfaces. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, let you match bite and temperature range to how the car is actually used, from quiet, low-dust daily commuting to harder fast-road and track driving. The result is a firmer, more predictable pedal that gives you confidence to brake later into a bend in a car that was never light over its front axle.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
The kit pairs uprated two-piece floating front discs with a fixed caliper, the floating construction reducing the rotating mass each wheel has to start and stop. The larger disc diameter and greater swept area increase both leverage and the surface available to dissipate heat, which is what keeps the system stable when the standard brakes would already be heat-soaked. The caliper is a hollow body as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing version rated to 1000C, a two-year warranty and no dust cover for serious circuit use. Pad choice spans a Street compound for road use, a Sport compound with more initial bite and heat range, and a Racing compound built for high-temperature work. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and the caliper can be finished in an included painted colour or a premium polished or candy option, with a two-tone anodized or titanium centre bell selectable at checkout. It is engineered specifically as a front-axle upgrade for the diesel Mk5, where braking, not outright grip, is the limiting factor.
Fitment for the Volkswagen Golf 5 1.9 TDI (2005-2007)
This kit fits the 2WD Volkswagen Golf 5 1.9 TDI across the 2005 to 2007 model years, supplied as a pair of front corners. Critically, it suits only cars running the two-piece OE front caliper. Confirm which caliper your car was built with before ordering, as that determines correct fitment. It is a front-axle kit; rear brakes are unaffected.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
