Caliper render for this kit:

The Bora 2.8 V6 24V carries its narrow-angle VR6 well forward of the front axle line, and that mass is what cooks a standard braking setup on a committed B-road run or a handful of hot laps. This XYZ Racing front big brake kit for the Volkswagen Bora 2.8 V6 24V swaps the OE two-piece caliper arrangement for a fixed big brake setup built to take heat without the long pedal that creeps in once the factory discs are heat-soaked.
Front-axle braking is where this Mk4-era saloon does most of its work, and it is exactly where the standard system runs out of thermal headroom first. A larger rotor and a stiffer fixed caliper give you a firmer pedal and more consistent bite when you are leaning on the brakes repeatedly.
What this brake kit does for your 1999-2005 Volkswagen Bora 2.8 V6 24V
Fit the kit and the first thing you notice is pedal feel. A fixed caliper flexes far less than the sliding OE unit, so the bite point sharpens and stays where you put it. The larger two-piece floating rotor adds thermal mass, which means the brakes shrug off the heat that builds when 200-odd PS of VR6 keeps loading the front axle into every corner. Three pad compounds let you match the kit to how you drive: the Street compound for everyday road use, quiet and low-dust; the Sport compound for fast-road and the occasional track day, with more bite and heat range; and the Racing compound for sustained circuit work where outright fade resistance matters most. On a nose-heavy front-driver like the Bora, hauling that weight down again and again is the limiting factor, and more consistent front braking is what lets you carry speed to the apex rather than braking early to leave a margin.
About the Hollow front brake kit
The kit is a bolt-on big brake upgrade designed specifically for Bora models running the two-piece OE caliper, so it is worth confirming your car matches that requirement before you order. It replaces the factory sliding caliper with a fixed multi-piston caliper clamping a larger two-piece floating front rotor, which is where the gain in heat capacity and pedal consistency comes from. The caliper is a hollow body as standard, and there is an optional Hollow Racing version rated to 1000C, with a two-year warranty and no dust cover, for owners running regular track miles. Pad compound is chosen when you order from Street, Sport and Racing options, letting you tune the kit to road, fast-road or circuit duty without changing the hardware. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, and a two-tone anodized or titanium centre bell can be selected at checkout, so the caliper can sit behind the wheels in a finish that suits the car rather than an off-the-shelf default. As a front-only kit it targets the axle that carries the engine and does the bulk of the stopping on this platform, which is the sensible place to spend first on a VR6 Bora.
Fitment for the Volkswagen Bora 2.8 V6 24V (1999-2005)
This kit is specified for the Volkswagen Bora 2.8 V6 24V built between 1999 and 2005, supplied as a pair of front corners, and it fits only cars equipped with the two-piece OE caliper. Check yours before ordering, as single-piece-caliper Boras take a different setup. It is a front-axle kit, so the rear brakes stay as standard.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
