Caliper render for this kit:

The 2008 MK1 sits meaningfully higher and carries more kerb weight than the 208 hatchback it shares its PSA PF1 platform with. That combination loads the front axle harder under deceleration and accelerates heat build-up in the factory discs. On long descents or repeated fast stops, Peugeot’s standard front braking reaches its limits before the chassis does.
This XYZ Racing front big brake kit addresses that deficit directly. Supplied as a matched left-and-right pair of larger front discs and forged calipers, with three pad compounds covering improved daily feel to sustained track use, it brings the front axle in line with what the car can actually do.
What this brake kit does for your 2013-2019 Peugeot 2008 MK1
A big brake fitment on the 2008 MK1 is fundamentally about thermal capacity. The crossover body’s higher centre of gravity shifts weight to the nose hard under deceleration, and the factory front discs were sized for everyday driving stress rather than sustained fast-road or track use. The hollow-vane disc moves air through the rotor core to keep running temperatures in check, and the two-piece floating construction keeps the friction ring flat as it heats while trimming rotating and unsprung mass off the front corners.
Three pad compounds match the kit to use. Street brings progressive, predictable, quiet, low-dust bite from cold, important in British conditions where you rarely arrive at the first hard stop with warm brakes. Sport sharpens response and widens the heat range for drivers pushing hard on fast A-roads. Racing holds its friction coefficient through repeated heavy stops that standard pads would fade through well before. Braided stainless lines come with the kit to keep the pedal firm under load.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
The disc uses a hollow-vane internal geometry, constructed to move air through its core more aggressively than a conventional ventilated disc, keeping running temperatures in check during sustained braking. On a crossover like the 2008 MK1, where repeated hard stops on fast road or circuit generate heat quickly, that has a direct impact on fade behaviour. The caliper is a hollow-body forged unit as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade that removes the dust cover, carries a 1000C rating and a two-year warranty for circuit or motorsport applications where consistent friction across multiple stops is the priority.
Three pad compounds, Street, Sport and Racing, cover the full spectrum of use. Painted caliper colours are included at no extra cost in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, letting you finish the installation to taste. A Custom Color in any Pantone shade is available for £150, with premium polished-forged finishes in Titanium, Polished Gold and Polished Silver and candy finishes in Teal, Blue, Red and Orange. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, with a two-tone centre bell in five anodized colours or titanium selectable at checkout.
Fitment for the Peugeot 2008 MK1 (2013-2019)
Built specifically for the Peugeot 2008 MK1, this front brake kit covers the full production run from 2013 through 2019. The 2008 MK1’s front hub specification remained consistent across the pre- and post-facelift cars, so the kit fits the full model range without variant exceptions. If you are upgrading the rear braking system as well, check XYZ Racing’s separate rear brake kit for the same platform.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
