Caliper render for this kit:

The W166 GLE is a substantial machine, and in AMG trim it carries performance credentials that its standard front braking equipment struggles to honour under sustained load. Weight transfer under hard braking concentrates forces over the front axle, and on a five-seat, four-wheel-drive luxury SUV with a long wheelbase, those forces are considerable. Standard discs handle the daily commute without complaint. It is the repeated, hard applications where the limitations surface.
The XYZ Racing front big brake kit for the Mercedes Benz GLE W166 targets exactly that scenario. It is a matched pair of left and right front calipers and discs, sized to the W166 front hub, that lifts the thermal ceiling at the axle doing the most work. Two-piece floating discs, a hollow-vane rotor face, and a choice of pad compound let you build the setup around how you actually use the car.
What this brake kit does for your 2016-2019 Mercedes Benz GLE W166
The two-piece floating disc removes mass from the front axle without thinning the friction face where heat soak does its damage. On the W166 platform, where 4MATIC all-wheel drive, a generous wheelbase, and full kerb weight place significant load over the front wheels during any hard braking event, that reduction in unsprung and rotating mass translates into sharper steering response under braking and more consistent pedal feel across multiple hard stops in succession. The hollow-vane rotor pulls air through the disc as the wheel turns, managing heat between applications rather than simply storing it.
The three pad compounds address the range of driving this platform covers. Street is the quiet, low-dust road default, calibrated for the daily-driven GLE with occasional spirited use. Sport raises the bite and heat range for the driver who pushes hard on fast A-roads and mountain passes and needs a friction material that does not glaze at elevated temperature. Racing is the track compound, delivering consistent bite across a full session of hard braking rather than fading mid-afternoon, which is exactly what a 63 AMG owner taking the car to a circuit wants from the front axle.
About the Front Brake Kit
The calipers arrive hollow-bodied as standard, with a stiff, light construction that resists flex under pedal pressure. For serious circuit work there is an optional Hollow Racing upgrade that drops the dust cover, is rated to 1000C, and carries a two-year warranty. Disc faces come drilled or slotted at the same price, so you choose the look you prefer rather than paying for it. Centre-bell upgrades are available too, either two-tone anodizing in five colours or titanium, selectable at checkout.
Included painted caliper colours are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, and Anodized Black at no extra cost. A Custom Color in any Pantone is available for an additional 150 pounds. Above those sit the premium polished-forged finishes, Titanium, Polished Gold, and Polished Silver, alongside the candy finishes Candy Teal, Candy Blue, Candy Red, and Candy Orange. Through the open-spoke alloys most GLE owners run, the hardware reads as deliberate rather than an afterthought.
Fitment for the Mercedes Benz GLE W166 (2016-2019)
This front brake kit is confirmed for the Mercedes Benz GLE W166 across the 2016 to 2019 model years, covering the front axle as a left-and-right pair. The W166 generation spans multiple powertrain and trim variants, including the 250d, 350d, 400, 43 AMG, and 63 AMG, so verify your specific variant’s existing front rotor dimensions against the kit specification before ordering. Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
