Caliper render for this kit:

The BB6 Prelude ran double wishbone suspension at all four corners and an H22A VTEC engine that revved freely, a combination that made it one of the sharper front-wheel-drive coupes of the late 1990s, and one that consistently asks more of the front axle than the factory brakes were sized to handle. That same axle manages both steering and braking, and under sustained track use the stock calipers were never built for the thermal demands of repeated hard stops from speed.
The XYZ Racing front brake kit addresses front braking on the 1996-2001 Honda Prelude BB6 directly. Three pad compounds let you configure the kit to how you use the car, and a choice of caliper colour means the upgrade is as visible behind the Prelude’s wheels as it is felt through the pedal.
What this brake kit does for your 1996-2001 Honda Prelude BB6
The BB6 Prelude’s front axle manages both steering and deceleration for a car whose H22A VTEC motor encourages you to stay committed on the throttle well past the point where braking discipline matters. Two-piece floating discs improve heat evacuation compared with solid items, drawing heat away from the friction surface and keeping pedal feel consistent through a full track session rather than going soft when you need it most. Three pad compounds let you run the quiet, low-dust Street compound on the road and switch to Sport or Racing specification when the BB6 heads to Anglesey, Cadwell, or Oulton Park, without committing the car permanently to one end of the performance spectrum. Caliper colour is set when you order from Red, Yellow, Gold, Black and Anodized Black, all included at no extra cost, giving the installation a presence through the BB6’s alloys that matches the effort that went into fitting it.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
The caliper is a hollow-body forging as standard, paired with two-piece floating discs engineered to improve airflow and heat evacuation under the kind of repeated, heavy braking a track day puts through a front axle, and fed by braided lines. The front-axle focus of this kit is deliberate: the BB6’s front-wheel-drive layout places the majority of braking load at the front, making thermal management at that corner the priority. Three pad compounds span the full range of use, from Street for road and occasional spirited driving, through Sport for more aggressive fast-road demands, to Racing for circuit and club motorsport. For serious track use the optional Hollow Racing caliper deletes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C and carries a two-year warranty. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, the centre bell can be upgraded to a two-tone anodized finish in five colours or to titanium, and beyond the included caliper colours you can specify a Custom Color in any Pantone for £150, premium polished-forged finishes (Titanium, Polished Gold, Polished Silver) or candy finishes (Candy Teal, Candy Blue, Candy Red, Candy Orange). The compound and finish selections mean the kit is configured to the car, not adapted around it.
Fitment for the Honda Prelude BB6 (1996-2001)
This front brake kit is confirmed for the Honda Prelude BB6 chassis, covering the full 1996 to 2001 production run of the fifth-generation Prelude. BB6 identifies the H22A-engined variant, and this kit addresses the front axle across the model range within that chassis designation.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
