Caliper render for this kit:

The EK Civic’s front axle is the hardest-working corner on the car. On a platform where steering, traction, and braking all run through the same pair of tyres, front brake quality determines how quickly, and how repeatably, you can carry speed into a corner and get the car rotated on entry. The XYZ Racing front big brake kit for the 1996-2000 Honda Civic EK addresses exactly this pressure point.
At twenty-five to thirty years old, surviving EK Civics carry decades of heat-cycle fatigue in their original brake hardware. The hollow-vane disc, three pad compounds spanning daily use through full racing specification, and a caliper finished to your choice mean this kit delivers what an EK9 Type R circuit session demands, scales back for road use, and looks intentional rather than improvised from behind a set of aftermarket wheels.
What this brake kit does for your 1996-2000 Honda CIVIC EK
The EK’s light kerb weight makes it a rewarding car at track days and club events, but the front axle still shoulders the full braking load on a FWD layout, and that means heat. The hollow-vane disc accelerates heat evacuation as the wheel rotates, keeping pedal feel consistent after a sustained run of hard stops rather than letting it go soft and vague. Three pad compounds let you match the system to intended use. Street is the quiet, low-dust default for daily driving. Sport handles spirited road use and occasional circuit sessions. Racing is the dedicated track compound for events where brake temperatures climb and hold. Discs are offered drilled or slotted at the same price, and the caliper completes a setup that reads as considered rather than bolted-on.
About the front big brake kit
The kit is built around hollow-vane rotor geometry. The internal structure draws air through the disc as the wheel turns, dispersing heat more effectively than a solid disc and reducing the thermal soak that causes fade and inconsistent pedal response under repeated heavy braking. The kit ships as a matched pair of front calipers and discs. The caliper is a hollow-body design as standard, with an optional Hollow Racing upgrade rated to 1000C, supplied without a dust cover and carrying a two-year warranty, for sustained circuit running.
Three pad compounds are available when you order: Street for normal road use, Sport for performance driving including occasional track days, and Racing for sustained circuit running where temperatures peak and stay elevated. Included caliper colours are Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, and Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for builds that require an exact match to bodywork or livery, for an added charge, plus premium polished-forged finishes in Titanium, Polished Gold, and Polished Silver and a candy range in Teal, Blue, Red, and Orange. Centre bell upgrades are offered in five anodized two-tone colours or titanium, selectable at checkout. The front-only configuration reflects the physics of FWD braking: on a car that brakes and drives from the same axle, the front rotors and calipers absorb the dominant share of both stopping force and thermal load.
Fitment for the Honda CIVIC EK (1996-2000)
This kit is specified for the Honda Civic EK generation, covering the 1996 to 2000 model year span across all body styles and engine variants within the range, from D-series hatchback through to the B16B-engined EK9 Type R, and ships as a matched pair of front calipers and discs. Confirm your specific trim and any previously fitted non-standard calipers against the product fitment data before ordering.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
