Caliper render for this kit:

A 1,600kg crossover with 2.3 litres of VVT four-cylinder over the front axle does not brake like a saloon. The weight is there, the nose bias is real, and the second-generation Escape’s factory front discs were specified for road conditions rather than sustained high-load stops. Under repeated hard braking, long descents, towing, or urban stop-and-go heat accumulation, the OEM setup’s margins narrow quickly. The XYZ Racing front brake kit is the front-axle upgrade sized for how the Escape 2.3 VVT actually loads its brakes. It is a single-axle kit, a matched pair of front calipers and discs.
The two-piece floating discs cut rotating mass at the front corners and improve heat rejection compared to a conventional disc. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport, or Racing, mean the kit arrives configured for your intended use rather than a generic median. The full range of caliper finishes gives the installation a deliberate presence behind the wheel.
What this brake kit does for your 2008-2012 Ford Escape 2.3 VVT
The two-piece floating disc design reduces the front rotors’ rotating inertia. On a crossover with the Escape’s mass and ride height, lighter rotating components let the strut-type front suspension respond more cleanly to surface changes mid-stop. The more consequential gain, though, is thermal: these discs dissipate heat faster than solid iron of equivalent dimensions, keeping pedal feel consistent through repeated applications where a stock disc begins to lose its edge.
Pad compound determines the kit’s character. Street is the quiet, low-dust default that covers routine use without drama. Sport brings sharper initial bite and extended resistance to heat-induced glazing, meaningful on a heavier vehicle running repeated hard stops. Racing is the track compound for sustained high-temperature demands where Sport-spec material would begin to break down.
About the Front Brake Kit
The kit names itself after the caliper, which is hollow-cast as standard to lower rotating and unsprung mass and raise the ratio of cooling surface to weight. For serious track use, the Hollow Racing upgrade removes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C, and carries a two-year warranty. The two-piece floating discs channel air through the rotor body, and the geometry itself is lightened, so the result is a braking system that stays progressive through the loading an Escape 2.3 VVT encounters on mountain descents, regular towing, or urban driving where repeated moderate stops accumulate heat in the iron.
Painted caliper colours come in Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, or Anodized Black at no extra cost, with a Custom Color in any Pantone for an upcharge and premium polished-forged or candy finishes beyond that, letting you set the calipers as a visible feature or match them to an existing scheme. Pad compound is selected at order: Street, Sport, or Racing, three discrete specifications with different bite profiles and thermal thresholds. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, braided lines firm up the pedal, and two-tone centre bells in five anodized colours or titanium are selectable at checkout. The right choice is the one that matches your use, not the assumption that Racing is automatically the better option.
Fitment for the Ford Escape 2.3 VVT (2008-2012)
This kit is confirmed for the Ford Escape 2.3 VVT across the full 2008 to 2012 production span. The 2.3-litre VVT four-cylinder was fitted throughout this generation, and the front brake architecture this kit addresses covers that complete model run without trim-level exceptions based on the supplied data.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
