Caliper render for this kit:

The E34 535’s M30B35 straight-six is an engine that rewards commitment: long-stroked, torquey from low revs, and capable of pulling hard past 6,000rpm in a way that makes the rear-wheel-drive platform feel genuinely alive on a good road. What the factory never quite matched was stopping ability commensurate with that engine character. The original front brakes were adequate for 1988, but three decades of heat cycling and pad glazing mean most surviving 535s are significantly under-braked relative to their performance potential.
The XYZ Racing Hollow Front Big Brake Kit addresses that gap directly. It is a single-axle front kit, a left and right pair of calipers on two-piece floating discs, set up at the configurator above. Three pad compounds, Street, Sport, or Racing, let you configure the same hardware for a restored motorway express or a more committed track build, with a full caliper colour range giving you the latitude to match the visual to whatever the rest of the car demands.
What this brake kit does for your 1988-1996 Bmw 5 Series E34 535
Installing a serious front brake upgrade on the E34 changes the character of a car that, at roughly 1,500kg and without electronic driver aids, depends entirely on hardware and driver input to shed speed cleanly. The larger-than-standard two-piece floating discs extend thermal capacity, and on a long, fast run or a circuit where the same braking zone repeats, that headroom keeps confidence high in a way the ageing factory setup cannot match. The vaned disc construction improves heat dissipation under sustained load, reducing the point at which repeated hard stops begin to degrade feel and bite, while the floating ring expands without coning and the lighter assembly cuts unsprung and rotating mass. Compound choice allows the same kit to serve a daily-driven 535 on the quiet, low-dust Street pad, a spirited road car on the higher-bite Sport compound, or a car being pushed harder on the Racing specification.
About the Hollow Front Brake Kit
XYZ Racing’s Hollow series targets the front axle of the BMW 5 Series E34 535, the position where the majority of braking load concentrates on a rear-wheel-drive saloon. The caliper is hollow-bodied as standard, which keeps weight down at each front corner, and the two-piece floating disc is aimed at sustained high-load braking rather than the modest thermal work of ordinary traffic driving. Three pad compounds are available within the same kit configuration: Street for rebuilt or lightly used road cars, Sport for more spirited driving with extra bite and heat range, and Racing for circuit or extended fast-road use. That compound range avoids the cost and complexity of sourcing separate hardware for different use cases, and for hard circuit duty the optional Hollow Racing caliper deletes the dust cover, is rated to 1000C, and carries a two-year warranty. Discs come drilled or slotted at the same price, centre bells upgrade to two-tone anodized in five colours or to titanium at checkout, and caliper colour choices run from the included Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, and Anodized Black through a Custom Color in any Pantone, premium polished Titanium, Polished Gold, and Polished Silver, and candy Teal, Blue, Red, and Orange, useful for restorations or builds where the standard palette doesn’t match the brief. The kit covers the front axle only.
Fitment for the Bmw 5 Series E34 535 (1988-1996)
This kit is configured specifically for the BMW 5 Series E34 535 produced between 1988 and 1996. The 535 variant ran the M30B35 3.5-litre straight-six throughout that entire production window, with a consistent front brake architecture across the saloon and Touring body styles. Confirm your car’s build date falls within this range before ordering, as the E34 covered several variants and engine families, and this fitment is specific to the 535 specification.

Choosing your spec
Every kit is built to order around the choices you make above. Here is what each option actually changes, so you can spec yours with confidence.
Brake pads — Street, Sport or Racing
Every kit ships with a full set of high-performance pads; the compound is your call.
Street is the right default for fast-road driving — a strong, progressive cold bite with low noise, low dust and long disc life. Sport raises the working temperature and adds bite and fade resistance for hard road use and the occasional track day, while still behaving on a cold morning. Racing is a track compound built for sustained abuse: huge fade resistance and bite once heat is in it, at the cost of more noise and dust when cold. Match the pad to how hard you actually use the brakes — there is no benefit to a race pad that never gets up to temperature.
Caliper grade — Hollow vs Hollow Racing
Hollow is the standard caliper on every kit: a hollow-body forged caliper, lighter than a solid one, fitted with a dust cover and backed by a 5-year oil-leak warranty. For most fast-road and spirited track use it is all the caliper you need.
Hollow Racing is the track-grade upgrade. It runs the same hollow body but without a dust cover (so there is nothing to melt at sustained high temperature), uses a twin-metal piston that isolates heat travelling from the disc to the oil seal, and is rated to 1000°C. Available 286–380mm (front). Warranty is 2 years on oil leaks and 10 years on appearance. Built for professional racing and repeated track days.

Caliper colour & finish
Painted colours (Red, Yellow, Gold, Black, Anodized Black) are included at no cost. Want an exact match to your car? Custom Color (+£150) paints the calipers to any Pantone code you supply (15–20 day lead time).
Polished Forged finishes are the flagship: a forged caliper given a mirror-polished surface treatment that shifts colour with the viewing angle. Beyond the looks, the polished surface dissipates heat better, resists rust and stands up to the weather. Choose Titanium (neochrome, +£350), Polished Gold (+£300) or Polished Silver (+£250). They look their best paired with a titanium centre bell. Care: clean only with a dilute neutral cleaner or water.
Candy colours (+£200) use a deep candy-paint and polishing process for a mirror-reflection, boutique finish — pick Teal, Blue, Red or Orange (shown below right).

Centre bells
The centre bell is the CNC-machined aluminium hat that joins the disc to the hub. The standard anodized centre bell is included. The Two-tone bell (+£200) adds an anodized accent ring — choose Red, Yellow, Orange, Purple or Silver right here at checkout. The Titanium centre bell (+£500) is a forged titanium bell (bolts not included) that finishes off the polished-forged look.
